Honda Brio S (O)
Honda Variant
General information and overview
The Honda Brio S (O) is a compact city car designed for the urban landscape. It features a 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine producing 88 bhp, which is known for its smooth performance and good power delivery. The car is praised for its ease of handling and maneuverability, making it perfect for congested city streets. The interior, while not luxurious, is practical and comfortable, although it lacks some modern amenities like adjustable headrests, rear AC vents, and a center armrest. The Brios reliability and low maintenance costs are significant advantages, and its fuel economy is another plus point. However, the limited boot space and lack of certain features might make it less appealing for long highway trips or for those needing more cargo space. Overall, its a great option for a single person or a small family looking for a reliable and fun city car.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Honda Brio S (O) is a compelling option for those seeking a reliable and fun-to-drive city car. While it may lack in boot space and some modern features like auto climate control and rear wiper, it makes up for these shortcomings with its smooth and powerful 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine. The cars handling is impressive, especially in city driving, where its lightweight and agile nature shine. However, the ride quality can be a bit uneven at low speeds, and the interior, though practical, feels somewhat basic with hard plastics and limited amenities. Despite these limitations, the Brios reliability, good fuel economy, and ease of maintenance make it a solid choice for urban commuters.
Recent news and announcements
The 2024 Honda Brio S (O) is priced competitively in the Indian market, with the base model starting at around Rs. 6.5 lakh. This pricing strategy is aimed at making the vehicle more accessible to a wider audience. I think this move will help Honda gain a stronger foothold in the sub-compact hatchback segment.
The 2024 Honda Brio S (O) features a refreshed design with a new dark chrome diamond grille, LED headlights, and front fog lamps. The interior has also been updated with an all-black theme, digital AC controls, and an auto up/down driver window. These changes give the Brio a more modern and premium look.
Mechanically, the Honda Brio S (O) remains unchanged, powered by a 1.2-liter SOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine producing 90 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. I believe the CVT option will be a favorite among city drivers due to its smooth and efficient performance.
The 2024 Honda Brio S (O) comes equipped with several safety features, including driver and front passenger airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution, and rear parking sensors. These additions enhance the safety profile of the vehicle, making it a more reliable choice for buyers.
The top-of-the-line variants of the Honda Brio S (O) now feature an updated 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This upgrade improves the overall driving experience by providing seamless connectivity and entertainment options. I think this is a significant improvement that will appeal to tech-savvy buyers.
Pricing details and changes
The Honda Brio S (O) variant, although discontinued in 2019, can still be considered in the used car market. When it was available, the ex-showroom price for the Brio S (O) MT was around Rs. 6.3 lakh. On-road prices varied by city but typically added another Rs. 1-1.5 lakh for taxes, registration, and other costs, bringing the total to approximately Rs. 7.8-7.9 lakh. In the used car market, prices can vary widely based on the cars condition, mileage, and age, but you can expect to pay between Rs. 3.5 to Rs. 5.5 lakh depending on these factors.
Fuel efficiency information
The Honda Brio S (O) offers decent fuel economy, making it a cost-effective choice for daily driving. In city traffic, you can expect around 10-13 kmpl, while on highways, it can deliver up to 19 kmpl when cruising at moderate speeds. Average fuel economy typically ranges between 15-17 kmpl, which is respectable for a car in its segment. This makes the Brio a good option for those concerned about running costs and mileage.

its cute but still small & fuel eating car.....
Ever thought why Honda Brio being a good car does not figure in top 10 selling cars?It is because of incompetent, casual and arrogant dealers. The worst of the lot is Ace Honda noida.Reps will come to ur residence to make a deal collect the cheque promise you many things .Once the cheque is in cashed will then act rude and arrogant. Will not meet the promises made,The managers are rude to the extent to tell that do what ever like.I personally recommend to check out dealers at Delhi for purchase of Honda Car.
