Fiat Linea Classic Diesel

About
The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel is a stripped-down version of the original Linea, designed to be more affordable and appealing to a wider audience. It comes with a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine producing 75bhp and 190 Nm of torque, which is sufficient for city driving but lacks the punch on open roads. The car is available in two variants the basic Classic and the more feature-rich Classic Plus. The Classic Plus variant includes amenities like ABS, remote central locking, fabric upholstery, and a 4-speaker audio system. Despite the removal of some premium features, the Linea Classic retains its Italian design charm and offers good ride quality and handling. It is a spacious sedan with a well-built construction, making it a viable option for those looking for a reliable and comfortable ride on a budget. However, the interior design and materials feel dated, and the lack of modern features might be a drawback for some potential buyers.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel is a budget-friendly option that offers a mix of performance, comfort, and value. While it may not excel in outright power, the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine, tuned to 75bhp, provides sufficient grunt for city driving and manageable performance on open roads. The cars handling and ride quality are commendable, thanks to its mature underpinnings and higher profile rubber, although the steering could be more feedback-rich. The Classic Plus variant, with features like ABS, remote central locking, and a 4-speaker audio system, adds to the cars appeal without breaking the bank. However, the lack of modern amenities and the dated interior design might be a turn-off for some buyers. Overall, its a solid choice for those seeking a reliable, spacious sedan on a budget.
Price
When launched, the Fiat Linea Classic Diesel was priced competitively to attract more buyers. The ex-showroom price for the Linea Classic Diesel started around Rs. 7.5 lakh, while the Classic Plus variant was priced slightly higher at around Rs. 8.5 lakh. On-road prices varied by location but generally fell in the range of Rs. 8.5 lakh to Rs. 9.5 lakh for the Classic Plus variant in cities like Mumbai. This pricing strategy was aimed at making the car more accessible and value-for-money in the entry-level sedan segment. Given its features and performance, the Linea Classic Diesel offered a compelling package for its price.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 12:42 PM The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel, with its 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine, offers an impressive fuel efficiency of 19.5 kmpl, making it a great option for those looking to save on fuel costs. This sedan also boasts a robust 75 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 197 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. I think this balance of power and efficiency is a significant selling point.
Friday, 25 October 2024 02:20 PM Fiat India has priced the Linea Classic Diesel competitively, starting at Rs. 7.63 lakh, making it an attractive choice in the entry-level C segment market. This pricing strategy aims to capture a different audience segment compared to the higher-end Linea facelift. I believe this pricing is a smart move to boost sales.
Monday, 30 September 2024 03:48 PM The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel features a manual air conditioning system and lacks automatic climate control, but it does come with all four power windows, tilt steering, and hydraulic power steering. These features enhance the comfort and driving experience. I think the absence of automatic climate control is a minor trade-off given the overall package.
Tuesday, 20 August 2024 05:45 AM In terms of safety, the Fiat Linea Classic Diesel is equipped with an engine immobilizer, child safety locks, and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) in the higher variants. It also includes rear fog lamps and a fire prevention system, ensuring a safer drive. I believe these safety features are essential and well-implemented.
Monday, 15 July 2024 08:16 AM The Linea Classic Diesel has an impressive ground clearance, which helps it tackle bad roads effectively, making it a reliable choice for Indian road conditions. The boot space is also noteworthy, offering 500 litres of storage. I think this makes it a practical option for daily use.
Monday, 10 June 2024 12:24 AM The interior of the Fiat Linea Classic Diesel is all-black and features vinyl seats, though the Classic Plus variant retains fabric upholstery. It also includes a 4-speaker audio system without Bluetooth connectivity, which is a bit of a letdown in todays tech-savvy market. I think adding Bluetooth would significantly enhance the user experience.
Saturday, 25 May 2024 12:39 PM The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel comes in five metallic color options: New Pearl White, Tuscan Wine, Minimal Grey, Hip Hop Black, and Oceanic Blue. The top-end variant also features body-colored bumpers, door handles, and ORVMs, adding to its aesthetic appeal. I believe the color options are quite appealing and add to the cars charm.
Monday, 15 April 2024 11:55 AM The Linea Classic Diesel is powered by a 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine with a fixed geometry turbo, which is less powerful than the variable geometry turbo in the Linea facelift but still offers good performance. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. I think this engine is well-suited for everyday driving.
Wednesday, 20 March 2024 07:23 PM Fiat Indias strategy of selling the Linea Classic alongside the facelifted Linea targets different market segments effectively. The Linea Classic is positioned as a budget-friendly option, competing with smaller sedans like the Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire. I believe this strategy helps in capturing a broader market share.
Saturday, 10 February 2024 10:29 AM The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel has a generous warranty package, including a 3-year or 100,000 km basic warranty and an optional 2-year or 150,000 km extended warranty. This provides peace of mind for potential buyers. I think this warranty offer is quite reassuring.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 06:08 PM The Fiat Linea Classic Diesel is known for its decent fuel efficiency, which is a crucial factor for many Indian buyers. In city conditions, you can expect a mileage of around 14 kml, while on highways, it can go up to 16 kml with the air conditioning on. This makes it a reasonable choice for those concerned about running costs. The linear power delivery and the well-tuned gearbox contribute to its efficient fuel consumption, making it a practical option for daily driving.

Is the Citroen C3 suitable for city driving?
09 January 2024 08:20

Yes, the Citroen C3 is designed with city driving in mind making it an ideal choice for navigating urban environments. It is easy to maneuver through city streets, small parking spaces, and clogged traffic thanks to its small size and agile handling. The automobile is more suited for city driving when its agility is paired with features like a quick steering system. Additionally, the Citroen C3 often comes with a comfortable interior making daily city driving a more enjoyable experience. Whether you are navigating busy streets or finding parking in crowded areas the Citroen C3 is crafted to provide a convenient and efficient urban driving experience.

How is the drive quality of Citroen C3?
09 January 2024 08:17

The C3 soaks up rough roads, potholes, and broken patches in a manner that would make a multiple-time WRC-winning company proud. Which Citroen is! The C3 makes bumps disappear and it doesn’t bob or bounce. The tall sidewalls for the tyres give it added cushioning that lets the C3 just glide over broken roads. It’s absolutely wow on this front! Citroen says that the C3 is meant to be fun to drive too. As it turns out, despite its comfort factor, the C3 isn’t soft and sloppy at high speeds. Sure, the suspension is supple, but it is also controlled. In bends at high speeds, there’s a bit of body roll but then it settles down. It actually feels composed and stable even over 120kmph! So, Citroen’s rally pedigree can be experienced in the way the C3 soaks up bumps and the way it likes to be hustled too.

Which one is the best, Citroen C3 or Toyota Glanza?
09 January 2024 08:16

While each vehicle excels in its own right, the Citroen C3 offers the functionality and room of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. But it also lacks several basic equipment such as motorized adjustable mirrors, windshield wipers, and other creature conveniences to which we have grown accustomed from its competition. On the other hand, if you are looking for a hatch that satisfies a lot of needs the Glanza is an excellent option. It has more capacity than several more costly sedans an efficient engine selection, and a respectable features list. Therefore, you can choose the Glanza if a roomy cabin, good features, fuel economy, and power output are your top objectives.

What is the minimum down payment for Citroen C3?
09 January 2024 08:15

The down payment typically amounts to 20–30% of the vehicle's on-road price, while the ROI varies from 9.25–11.5% and is entirely dependent on the individual's CIBIL/Credit score. Therefore, as they will be better able to help you, we would advise you to walk into the closest dealership to obtain the final financial quotation and supporting documentation. Which car is better, Citroen C3 or Maruti Wagon R?
09 January 2024 08:13

Both vehicles excel in their own fields, but the Citroen C3 offers the room and functionality of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. However, it is also devoid of many creature conveniences that its competitors have made us accustomed to, such as electrically adjustable mirrors and windshield wipers. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, on the other hand, is the perfect little family vehicle. It has two engine options is efficient, practical, and capacious. It also has a convenient automatic transmission. Additionally we advise you to do a test drive to gain a better idea of compatibility and comfort when driving.
