Fiat Abarth Avventura

About
The Fiat Abarth Avventura is essentially the Avventura crossover powered by the potent 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine, similar to the one in the Punto Abarth. This engine produces 145 horsepower and 210 Nm of torque, making it a delight to drive, especially once the turbo kicks in around 1800 rpm. The car retains the same ground clearance of 205mm as the standard Avventura, making it practical for Indian roads and capable of handling basic off-road conditions. Visually, it stands out with Abarth badging, Scorpion alloy wheels, and distinct body cladding. Inside, the changes are minimal, with black and white striped upholstery and brown leather accents. The cars hydraulic steering is direct and nice, but the raised suspension and added weight affect its handling dynamics compared to the Punto Abarth. Nonetheless, it remains a fun and capable car that can handle both city driving and rough terrain with ease.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Fiat Abarth Avventura is a unique blend of performance and practicality, but it comes with its set of compromises. The 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine, producing 145 horsepower, is undoubtedly the star of the show, offering a thrilling drive with a lovely surge of power once the turbo kicks in. However, this power comes at the cost of significant torque steer, especially when the turbo boost is on, which can make handling tricky. The raised suspension and added body cladding, while giving it a rugged look, detract from the dynamic handling that the Punto Abarth is known for. Despite this, the Avventura excels on rough roads and can handle basic off-road conditions with ease, thanks to its 205mm ground clearance. Its a car that will appeal to enthusiasts who value raw power and the ability to tackle varied terrain, but it may not be the best choice for those seeking a balanced driving experience.
Price
The Fiat Abarth Avventura was priced around Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom when it was launched. On-road prices would have varied depending on the state and local taxes, but you could expect to add another Rs 1-2 lakh to the ex-showroom price. This pricing put it in direct competition with the Punto Abarth, which was similarly priced. From a value perspective, the Avventura offers a unique package of performance and ground clearance, but the price may seem steep for some buyers who might prefer the more agile and dynamically superior Punto Abarth.

Wednesday, 20 November 2024 04:30 PM The mileage of the Fiat Abarth Avventura is reasonable given its performance-oriented engine. In city driving, you can expect around 8 kmpl, while on the highway, it improves to about 10.5 kmpl. These figures are not bad considering the potential fun and power the car offers. However, for buyers highly concerned about fuel efficiency, this might not be the most economical choice.

20 Oct, 2015 07:10 AM

Synopsis

Fiat has surprised all the fans with an unexpected launch of the new powered by Abarth version of Fiat Avventura. The top spec variant of the car gets all the standard features available on the Emotion Avventura variant, adding a lot more visual as well as performance boost to the car.

On the visual differences, the car gets Abarth logo's on both the sides and comes with the 16 inch Scorpion design alloy wheels for a pure Abarth feel. All the other parts of the exterior has been exactly the same as standard Avventura.

The biggest and the most exciting difference is the use of 1.4L MultiJet petrol engine, tuned by Abarth for a maximum production of 140 HP and 210 NM of torque. This makes it good for a 9.9 second 0-100 kmph run. The car returns a claimed mileage of 17.1 kmpl and gets the same 205 mm ground clearance.

The interior has been kept exactly the same as a fully loaded Avventura variant. The Fiat badge has been retained on the wheel whereas it has bee replaced by an Abarth badge on the Abarth Punto Evo. The car gets a special price tag of INR 9,95,000 and makes it the first ever pure performance crossover of India.

Without a doubt, this Avventura would be the more preferred one over the standard Avventura. The standard had loads of weight due to accessories all over body, and 90 bhp of standard Punto made it feel underpowered. This engine is kinda perfect match for it, and obviously will feel more lively on the road. If I had money, I would get it over anything :)
