The Aston Martin DB9 has turned 20 years old, marking a significant milestone for this iconic grand tourer. To celebrate, a used DB9 with a 5.9-liter V12 engine and around 51,500 miles is up for sale for just under £12,000. This price is remarkably low, considering the cars performance and luxury. I think this is a great deal for anyone looking to own a piece of automotive history.

A recent listing highlighted a used Aston Martin DB9 available for purchase at a surprisingly low price of £12,000. This 2003 model still boasts its original 5.9-liter V12 engine, producing 450bhp and 420lb ft of torque. The cars design and performance remain impressive even two decades later. I believe the DB9s enduring appeal lies in its timeless design and powerful engine.

The Aston Martin DB9 was first introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003 and was a significant advancement over its predecessor, the DB7. It featured a new VH (Vertical / Horizontal) Platform and a powerful AM11 V12 engine, producing 517 ps and 620 NM of torque. The DB9s bodyshell was 25% lighter yet had twice the torsional rigidity of the DB7. I think this engineering feat was a game-changer for Aston Martin.

The DB9 was notable for its advanced carbon ceramic brakes, which provided better response and longer life with virtually no fade. It also featured a rear mid-mounted ‘Touchtronic 2’ six-speed transmission with electronic shift-by-wire control. The combination of these technologies made the DB9 a standout in its class. I believe these features contributed significantly to its performance and handling.

Discussions and Questions Aston Martin DB9
What’s the longevity of the DB9 Volante convertible top?
03 February 2025 08:31
The car is underappreciated in the way that it transforms from GT cruiser to sports car with a push of the sport button. It's like having two cars all in one.
As a true daily driver or weekend toy, the Aston Martin DB9 Volante is the question.
03 February 2025 08:31
For over a year I’ve driven my DB9 Volante daily and it has been surprisingly practical. Yes, fuel economy is not great, but the comfort and joy it provides during the mundane commute is worth it.
What’s the driving experience like in a modern sports car compared to the DB9 Volante?
03 February 2025 08:31
The biggest myth is that they are unreliable money pits. Regular maintenance and my DB9 has been rock solid. It’s not cheap, but it’s not the nightmare that some people make it out to be.
Is the driving experience of the DB9 Coupe worth the maintenance cost?
03 February 2025 08:28
The charm is in the fact that the maintenance costs are part of the equation. Buying a vintage watch is like that, it needs to be cared for and given attention, but that’s what makes it special.
So the question is, is the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe worth its high price tag?
03 February 2025 08:28
That depends. Perhaps not if you want the ultimate driving machine. However, if you want to feel like James Bond each time you are behind the wheel, it’s priceless.
