KTM 390 Adventure Review
The increased scope of adventure sport activities in India has made way for all the manufacturers to show what they have got for the purpose. The international middle and heavy weight bikes from BMW, Ducati, Triumph and Benelli are true to their fact but does not clearly justifies what an average Indian adventure lover dreams. Bajaj got to the front with its AS series but truly saying, not everyone believes that they will serve them the best. KTM, the Bajaj's own alliance has been preparing for its adventure dipped 390 series motorcycle. Being true to itself and the purpose, it will prove to be a benchmark for the segment for sure.
Design & Style
The 390 Adventure would be with a totally different platform from the existing series in India. It would however use few components from the existing series of KTM's but designing from the front 3 quarters would define a new language for sure. The semi faired, highly mounted structure of the bike would surely spread its charm all around. Rugged and large treads of the off-road tyres would make it look more specific and utilizable.
Engine & Gearbox
The tricky part would be played here only by KTM. It has got an excellent and reliable 373.2 cc, 1-cylinder motor producing 43 BHP and 35 NM of torque. The only change which could happen would be the tuning of the 6-speed gearbox, to make it more responsive to ups and downs during the ride.
Brakes & Suspension
The bike would get the same ABS enabled front and rear single disc brakes. The bike would ride on spoke wheels for better ride quality while off-roading. It would ride on a better suspension than the other series available, with more travel for better absorption of the obstacles. Front and rear tyre sizes will vary, in which the rear would be most expected to be 16 inch whereas the front being an 18 or 19 inch unit.
Comfort & Safety
With its high riding position and plenty of ground clearance, the bike would safely and comfortable ride over every type of terrain. ABS would prevent the slips and riding position will make the rider feel good all the time.
Shades & Expected Price
The shades would be disclosed at the moment of launch, with the orange touch specific to all the colors. It would be priced a bit above of the RC 390 and we expect it to be for INR 2,25,000-2,50,000.
