For the 2024 model year, Honda is updating the CB500 series, including the CB500X, which will be renamed to NX500. The new model will have a fresh look, reduced weight, and new electronics such as Honda traction control and a 5-inch TFT screen. These changes aim to enhance the bikes performance and user experience. I believe these updates will make the NX500 a more competitive option in the midsize adventure bike market.

Honda has announced that the CB500X will be replaced by the new NX500 adventure motorcycle in European markets starting in 2024, with a potential release in the US in 2025. The NX500 features improved suspension, lighter wheels, and new fuel-injection settings, along with Honda traction control and a 5-inch TFT screen. This upgrade should make the bike more capable for adventure riding. I think this is a great move by Honda, as it addresses several limitations of the CB500X and adds modern features that riders will appreciate.

The 2023 Honda CB500X has been praised for its suitability for riders of smaller stature, with a ride height of 32.8 inches and a wet weight of 439 lbs. It features a 471 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel twin engine and a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The bike is ideal for road riding and light off-road use, although it lacks advanced features like multiple ride modes and switchable traction control. I think this bike is a great choice for those looking for a capable yet manageable adventure motorcycle.

Despite its limitations for heavy-duty off-roading, the Honda CB500X has a strong following, with many aftermarket companies offering mods and add-ons to enhance its capabilities. The bikes cast wheels and 4.3 inches of ground clearance make it more suited for road riding and light off-road use. I think the community support and availability of aftermarket parts are big pluses for this bike.
