Honda's Interceptor also known as the VFR800-is one of those enduring machines that continues to sell well. Since its ground-breaking debut in 1983 as a cutting-edge sportbike, the Interceptor has been steadily softened and rounded in subsequent generations from its original hard-core premise, while other Honda models took up the all-out performance corporate sword. The front fairing features angular lines and integrated headlights and signal lights in a successful attempt to provide the Interceptor with a more than fair share of modernity.

Also, they keep it distinct from the CBR models by implementing a simple side fairing design with only those cooling snips as an aggressive touch and a VFR and implicit Interceptor characteristic. Furthermore, the five-spoke rear wheels bolted on a single-sided swingarm is yet another distinctive note as well as the under seat exhaust built around the right rider side of the bike’s rear wheel.

Overall compact and aggressive, but retaining the sport-touring riding position with a wide, spacious seat and close by footpegs and handlebars, the VFR800 Interceptor is a successful combination of styles visually, so imagine how it is to actually ride the thing.

Main Features of Honda VFR800 Interceptor:

  • Unique center-up exhaust system incorporates two stainless-steel mufflers tucked beneath the Interceptor’s tail section.
  • Large-diameter 43mm Honda Multi-Action System cartridge front fork provides enhanced handling under all riding conditions.
  • Linked Braking System.
  • Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) available as an option.
  • Four brilliant multireflector headlights.

In the VFR800, the VTEC essentially means the engine transforms from a eight-valve to a 16-valve unit, depending on whether it's below or above 7000rpm, and offering a choice between maximum power or maximum economy. Throw in the latest generation DCBS, fuel injection and Honda's HISS security ignition, and it's easy to see this is truly a motorcycle of the 21st century.
