TVS launches 'Jupiter' at INR 44200
The company 'TVS' has launched the 'Jupiter Scooter' which it claims boasts of awesome performance and the more of everything – mileage, comfort and power. The name of new TVS scooter comes from the 'Jupiter Planet' which is largest in our galaxy. The TVS Jupiter is claimed to be the most frugal and the fastest offering in the segment, and returning a claimed mileage of 62 km/l. The Jupiter scooter gets the 110cc engine has been re-worked, a segment first pass light switch and has a higher compression. The “V-matic” transmission has also been tweaked with TVS Jupiter. The new 'TVS Jupiter' is priced at Rs. 44,200/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The TVS Jupiter uses the same tested and tried 110cc engine which does the duty on 'Wego', doing the 0-60 km/hr sprint in just 7.2 seconds. The engine produces 8 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM and 8 BHP of power at 7500 RPM. The new scooter comes with 'TVS Patented Technology' like 'Econometer' (Power Mode and Eco Mode). The 'TVS Jupiter' packs of 17-litre under seat storage that can fit a full sized helmet and the fuel tank capacity is 5.3 litre which can be filled via an external fuel lid set right above the rear tail light.
The company claims that there is an under-seat mobile charger provision and has the largest leg space in its segment as well. There are retractable under-seat and front bag hooks. The TVS has loaded the Jupiter scooter and it comes with gas charged rear suspension, telescopic front forks, low fuel indicator and LED tail light. You can kick start while sitting. The TVS Jupiter is offered in 4 colors – red, white, matte black and grey. The manufacturer will launch a new bike every quarter. Currently the TVS is selling 35,000 scooters every month but now aims to sell 50,000 units a month.
The 90/90/12 tubeless tyres do the duty on TVS Jupiter which are the largest in this segment. It uses 130 mm drums on its both ends. The scooter gets electric start and viscous paper filter is standard. The sales have started in North right away with 4000 units already shipped. The company will commence sales of the Jupiter in South in November.
