Royal Enfield Previews Cafe Racer

Royal Enfield has showcased its new 2014 Café Racer at the recently held the Long Beach Motorcycle Show in California. It is expected to be launched in US sometime in July-August 2013. Cafe Racer 2014 will have a 535cc fuel injected engine with four-stroke single-cylinder. This vehicle has typical cafe racer styling with chromed cigar shape exhaust, a round single-unit headlamp, clip-on handlebars, elongated fuel tank, bar-end mounted chrome side view mirrors, minimal body panels, a single seat, a rectangular tail-light and aluminium mudguards.

Café Racer is claimed to be 21 kg lighter than its other 500s. A single disc brake in the front and rear will be equipped in the bike, for power stopping. Additionally, a wide range of accessories will also be offered by Royal Enfield like aluminium upper and lower triple brackets, aluminium fenders instead of plastic, café and clubman handlebars and two different exhaust systems. This bike will have a leaned-in riding position which should aid handling, unlike the traditional one. No indication is given about its sale in India, but we hope to see it soon.
