Piaggio Planning to Launch the Vespa 946 in India
The Italian manufacturer Piaggio, is planning to launch a new variant of Vespa in the Indian market dubbed as 'Vespa 946'. It is expected to be launched by the mid of 2014 and will be on sale through the CBU route. Vespa 946 was also on display at the Auto Expo 2014 held in February.
Talking about the features, it has traction control, digital speedometer console, ABS, ASR, chrome exhaust, front and rear disc brakes. Apart from these wonderful features, its price seems to be the only drawback. The company is planning to price it between INR 8-9 lakh which is quite high than other 125cc-150cc two-wheelers available in the market.
The chairman and managing director of company, Ravi Chopra stated that, “The homologation of the Vespa 946 has been done and we would launch it in two to three months. This is a very niche product and is positioned as a collector’s edition.”
