Latest Updates
The KTM RC 390 2020-2022 has been discontinued, leaving many enthusiasts and riders disappointed. It was a fan favorite for its combination of power and performance, with its single-cylinder engine providing plenty of punch for a sub-400cc bike. The RC 390 had become an icon in the motorcycle world, with many riders having fond memories of blasting through the streets and highways on this machine. Unfortunately, KTM has decided to discontinue the RC 390 and focus on other models. While we are sad to see this bike go, KTM has promised to continue producing high-performance machines, so we can only hope that the RC 390 will be replaced by something even better.
The Duke 390 has been a highly anticipated motorcycle from KTM for a long time. Rumors of its launch have been swirling for years, but KTM has been tight-lipped about the motorcycle. However, recent reports suggest that KTM could unveil the Duke 390 at EICMA 2022, though that has yet to happen. As such, it is likely that the KTM Duke 390 will be unveiled in the first half of 2023, globally. It is expected that the motorcycle will be launched a few months after it's unveiling. The KTM Duke 390 promises to be an exciting addition to the market, and its launch will be something to watch out for!

KTM Duke 390 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The 2023 KTM Duke 390 has been successful in grabbing the attention of those who thrill for the joy of street motorcycling. The bike is lightweight and gives a power-packed performance. It was upgraded with a BS6-compliant engine back in February 2020. It guarantees a thrilling ride experience whether one is riding it through the streets or going through a forest of bends. The bike is manufactured in India at Bajaj’s Auto plant in Chakan. At present, the MY2023 KTM Duke 390 is priced in India at INR 2.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
KTM Duke 390 Design & Style
Going by the design statement, the bike rides on a lightweight split steel trellis frame. The bike offers maximum maneuverability and precision. It has been equipped with all-LED headlamps and DRLs that offer it a fully-offensive stance. The bike has not received a cosmetic update since a long time as it was last updated in 2017 when it got an all-new design. However, the new colour options do add up to its astonishing look. As per the latest details available, KTM would be unveiling the 2023 model of Duke 390 by the end of this year. Some media reports also claim that the brand is planning to replace the Duke 390 with a bigger twin-cylinder Duke 490. But according to us, it won’t be happening as Duke 390 is a single-cylinder model and it offers excellent value for money in this price segment. The KTM Duke 490 would be priced on the higher side and would be catering to a different segment of customers.
KTM Duke 390 Engine & Gearbox
The 2023 KTM Duke 390 is powered by a BS6-compliant 373.3cc liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engine. The engine has been upgraded to meet the stringent emission norms. Despite the BS6 update, the output figures of the bike remain unchanged. It churns out 43.5 HP of maximum power at 9000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7000 rpm. The engine of the bike remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The updated exhaust system with a catalytic converter is a part of the BS6 upgrade of the bike. The motorcycle has been equipped with a Quickshifter+ that allows the rider with clutchless upshifts and downshifts to have a comfortable ride irrespective of its terrain.
KTM Duke 390 Instrument Console
The BS6-compliant KTM Duke 390 comes equipped with a TFT instrument cluster. It not only displays the riding data but also provides Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with an ability to toggle Supermoto Mode that disengages ABS at the rear wheel and toggles the Quickshifter+. The Quickshifter icon appears on the screen once the bike is turned on. One can change the display theme, the shift light, clock, these all are available in the settings of the instrument display.
KTM Duke 390 Dimensions, Mileage, and Top Speed
The 2023 Duke 390 measures 2002 mm in length, 838 mm in width, and 1274 mm in height. It has a seat height of 823 mm with a wheelbase of 1357 mm. With the updated exhaust system along with the catalytic converter, the bike is now 4kg heavier than the previous-gen model. The bike now has a kerb weight of 167 kg. The fuel tank capacity of this street motorcycle is 13.5 litres. It has a ground clearance of 151mm which is quite good. The mileage of the bike stands at around 25-30 kmpl while the top-speed offered by Duke 390 is 167 kmph (approximate).
KTM Duke 390 Brakes and Suspension
New KTM Duke 390 rides on a split steel trellis frame while the suspension of the bike is handled by WP Apex UpSide Down forks at the front with 142mm wheel travel and a WP Apex mono-shock at the rear with 150mm wheel travel. The braking power of the bike comes from a 320mm single disc at the front with 4-piston fixed calliper and a 230mm single disc at the rear with a 1-piston floating calliper. It gets BOSCH 9.1MP 2-Channel ABS with Supermoto mode which allows the rider to turn off the rear wheel ABS. The street motorcycle rides on 110/70-R17 tubeless tyres at the front and 150/60-R17 tubeless tyres at the rear.
KTM Duke 390 Colours & Graphics
The 2023 model of the KTM Duke 390 is available in two colour options: Metallic Silver and Ceramic White. The look of the bike looks quite appealing. The Metallic Silver colour on the bike looks nice and classy while the wheels of the bike in this colour variant are in orange colour. The exposed trellis frame is also painted in orange and the bolt-on subframe is painted in black. On the other hand, the Ceramic White colour comes equipped with all-black alloy wheels and black/white trellis frame.
Verdict and Competitors of KTM Duke 390
Considering the price, the 2023 BS6 KTM 390 Duke is one of the best products in its class and it offers excellent value for money. The bike looks appealing from almost all angles, and it is a fun-to-ride motorcycle. Coming to rivals, it competes in the Indian market with the likes of Bajaj Dominar 400, BMW G310R, Honda CB300R, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

User Reviews for KTM Duke
Very Poor Build Quality No Support
Lots of problems from day one, two and a half years later most not resolved, very poor from KTM all-round very disappointed with the bike its been horrendous owning it.
Best Features: Headlights
Pros: Was Ok to Start With
Cons: Poor quality after a year, its very poor
Best 200cc Bike in India
Currently i bought a Duke 200 BS6 2 weeks ago and its a good decision to buy. I am driving between 55 and 65 and getting a mileage of 40.1 km/l currently which is a good one in this segment. The headlight visibility is good. Initial acceleration is also good. I recommend for Duke 200 and above version to use premium petrol as the compression rate is 11.3. Overall experience, I am totally satisfied with the bike. As on the cons side the ground clearance is really now especially when you are carrying an pillion rider, there is an high chance of hitting the lower part in the bumper.
Best Features: Dual Channel ABS, DRL
Pros: Looks, Acceleration and Mileage
Cons: Ground Clearance
Worst bike when it comes to maintainance
This review is based on personal experience. KTM Duke 200 is One of the worst bikes when it comes to maintenance. I feel I have spent the same amount on petrol and maintenance. For 15,000km Petrol = 36,000 (bike mileage 30km/LTR) Petrol price - 75 (AVG) Maintenance Service = 3 times x 3500 = 10500 (min) Fork oil seal replacement= 2500 Starter motor stator coil replacement =3500 Chain sprocket replacement= 3500 Oil seal replacement = 1500 Start on button replacement = 1200 Fuel sensor replacement= 1000 Clutch wire replacement = 200 Chain lubrication For every 500kms = 100 I.e for 15,000kms = 3000 Seat cover (because seat started cracking) = 800 Both tires = 7000 Total = 34,700 I can even show bill for all the things I have mentioned above. Bike is not designed for Indian roads. It's just an overpriced low quality bike.
Best Features: Nothing to tell
Pros: Acceleration
Cons: Bike it self
Good looking KTM 390 Duke. But too aggressive looks.
KTM has built a good bike, but it's too aggressive look and can't hold more interest for long time. Good bike for superbike beginners
Best Features: TFT display, led headlamp, orange color, look, sound,
Pros: Value for money, power, pickup, design, metzler tyres
Cons: Seat height, not comfortable, low fuel tank, poor customer service (not all the places).
1st of its kind !!
Had waited long, but ultimately had launched in India !! By going what's in the paper, it seems like it won't fall short in performance and will be a good investment!! Also not to mention, the waiting period for the Duke 390 is too bit longer as that of Duke 250 & 200,which will be available from 8th of March.
Best Features: TFT info screen, Slipper Clutch, Ride By Wire, LED Headlamps, Adjustable suspension arms !!
Pros: Overhauling design from the previous generation Duke 390. Looks will remain appealing for the coming 4 to 5 years.
Cons: The waiting period of the Duke 390 is more then 1 month after booking too. Price increases in different states, so have to go deep into pockets!!
KTM Duke 390 Discussion
Thank u for your advice
Hiii friends
I'm 5.5 feet tall can I ride KTM Duke 390 2017
Which have a sheet hight of 830mm , all tho..I have driven KTM RC 390 which have a sheet hight of 820mm but I'm not sure with Duke 390
Plz help me and reply
ktm rc390 is the fastest bike in the segment . But it looses its crown towards ninja 300 in terms of top speed . ninja has a top speed of 190km/hr and rc does 179 ( due to the rev limiter ) . Ninja attains the same speed as rc 390 in 13,000 rpm and rc 390 does it in 10,000 rpm so i think kiirus tuned rc can go beyond 190 km/hr and beat ninja . In malasia they have " power tronic " remaped rc 250's which does 200 km/hr and just guss what will the top speed of 390's . check powertronics malesia
This baby is just awesome... I am a proud owner of this baby Duke...
Duke390 overshadows most of the bikes in its categories. I wont say that its perfect but whatever the problems it has I can live with it.
I will note them down :
1) Tank capacity is small : You can go 200 kms in full tank. (Not an issue. Are many petrol pump within 200 kms)
2) Engine heats up a lot in bumper to bumper traffic. (Not a n issue because any bike of single cylinder with 400 cc will heat up like that until and unless its fully faired )
3) Seat is hard and your AS* will start paining after a while. (You can change the seat to gel based seat and modification is pretty cheap. Even though I like the stock one more)
4) You need to lube your chain in every 500 kms. (That goes same with every performance bike)
5) Millage is very less. (Common man are you looking for performance or milleage. Go buy a Hero Splendor )
If you just leave these few things then you have hell lot of things that you will love about this bike.
I will Note down few :
1) It's 44 bhp crazy machine. (0-60 : 2.3 secs, 0-100 : 5.5 secs)
2) Bosch ABS.
3) Excellent Power to weight ratio. (same as 2012 aston martin vantage v12)
4) Metzeler tyres which stick to road like anything.
5) Upside Down Forks
6) Trellis Frame for better stability.
It has the ability and power to take you that much closer to GOD if you are not careful enough!
Because "Its KTM thing : You won't Understand"
Do look to my channel for Duke390 motovlogs and yes don't forget to subscribe :
bike head lights are very poor comparative to car bus or all four wheelerse .so i sugest that to provide an arrange ment at front to fiix power full torch lights of theire choice for night traveling .
There's no point in comparing one bike with another in last the thing which really matters is which byk makes "U" happy
Ktm great performance with such low cost
Where as ninja nd R3 are priced higher just for the purity of the performance they deliver it's not always about the power or speed
It's all about the quality of ride that the byk gives or which one suites u best
We can't judge others decision :-)
hey everyone can i know whether i can get duke 390 with black rims not the orange

duke 390 rockz man
one thing i have to say that ninja is better than ktm duke 390...
ninja build quality is better than ktm.....the sound of ktm is so bad,,most of the persn hate the sound of ktm.....not a eye caching bike like ninja 300.....fuel efficiency is lower than ninja.......ktm duke 200 millage is around 30 ,,,,becoz of highr bhp at less capacity engine,,,,2013 cbr 250r gives millage around 38,,,,becoz 250cc with 26 bhp.....ktm is not suitable for all persion...its upside down suspension s oilseal liked at sum bumpers....
how to unlock d bikes top speed ?

Mileage kitna degi KTM 390..
Guys stop with the speed wars esp for Indian roads, agreed KTM single cylinder may not be able to beat Ninjas twin but hell where do you expect to even hit 100kmph in the entire country without simply jumping into a pothole, swerving right and left, crash landing and ending up with all the bones broken.
This cant Beat the Ninja 300.The Top Speed of the Dukes The Limited. wanna be a duke owner? know it. like the Duke 200 was limited to 136kph, this one is to be expected to be limited to 168kph. so dream of beating The kawi 300 will be a Dream..
wow super bikes
i like this bikes in india super wonderfull this bikes. this cant beat the ninja 300 top speed of the dukes.
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv goooooooooooooooooood 1
kawasaki ninja is an imported bike wit full fairing so its cost more duke is made in india in pune plant its a street fighter ... talking about competation duke is 2 laks cheaper than ninja ninja costs 4lakh rupees as on road price in vijayawada where as duke costs 2 laks rupees ...this is where the duke has complete advantage over ninja coz to be frank i think no father will allow u to buy a bike at 4lakh price point istead they will suggest a car for family ....so duke is a complete winner here and on the perfomance wise duke ruleess cuz and initial acceleration is much more quicker than ninja i tried it in personal ....and the top speed is almost identical i think now will spend 2lakh rupees for 5 kms speed difference ........overall duke is complete value for money where as ninja is for big shots.....
wats the milage of D390..??
it's funny when people here talk abt fuel efficiency, how can you compare sports bike by fuel efficiency if you are so concerned about fuel efficiency than go buy splendor or honda dream yuga
Taken a test ride, it was like I am riding a MONSTER. Cool pickup, speed and comfort. Its written that 0 to 100 in 7 seconds but in test ride i have done 0 to 110 in 6 seconds. Amazing, I am gona take this any how..
superrrrrrr bike
Good value for money
Is anyone know when we upgrade 7-speed transmission instead of 6-speed transmission...
it w'll move faster than 230+ km/hr
I like this bike but concerned about pillon rider and the
very important factor of spares...and service bcoz its a moving
thing surely it will be damage where will i fix it..
so i m opting towards cbr 250r coz of vast service station.
but ktm ensure me of fixing any problen i will buy it at that very
moment....coz i love the speed and power..
KTM 390 is enough to beat Ninja 300. It came in half price of Ninja and more powerful than it. Shame on Kawasa
