One is great for long rides, the other for short ones. The fuel efficiency and comfort makes the Aerox better for everyday use. And the SR 160 is the one you’d choose if you’re after pure fun on the weekends.

The looks and handling is the reason I picked the SR 160 over the Aerox. The Yamaha probably has better build quality and reliability, but I have to admit. It's a tough choice.

That’s why the Aerox wins for me. It feels more modern with the start stop system, bigger fuel tank and digital cluster. Compared to the SR 160, the unit feels a bit dated.

Having owned both, I’d say the SR 160 is more fun to ride, but the Aerox is easier to live with on a day to day basis. That really depends on what you value more.

There is something Italian about the Aprilia that the Yamaha can’t match. Not always about practicality, sometimes you just want something that you smile every time you look at it.

I think the Aerox is the better all rounder. While it is not quite so sporty as the SR 160, it is better on comfort and fuel efficiency. And Yamaha's service network is a lot better than Aprilia's in the majority of places.

Build quality on the RC 125 is better, but it feels more premium. However, the R15 V4 has more power and better top-end performance. That all depends on what you think is important.

Both I have ridden, but the R15 V4 is more day-to-day comfortable. In traffic, though, the RC 125's aggressive ergonomics can be quite painful.

In the twisties, there’s no argument that the KTM has better handling. In case you enjoy cornering, the RC 125 will make a bigger smile on your face.

Yamaha R15 V4 all the way. It is more powerful and has nicer features, such as a quick shifter and traction control, and Yamaha's reliability is near impossible to beat.

It’s the RC 125, and it looks way cooler, and it has European bike appeal. Practically speaking, the R15 V4 is a better all-round package for everyday use, though.

If that’s what you want, the RC 125 feels more like a proper sports bike. Sportier than most 150cc bikes, the R15 V4 still seems a little tame.

After-sales service is something you should not take lightly. In most areas, Yamaha has a well-built service network and better spare parts availability as compared to KTM.

If you’re mainly going to be riding in the city with some highway trips thrown in, the R15 V4 is a better bet. While the RC 125 can feel a bit underpowered on the highway.

The brakes and suspension setup of the RC 125 are better. In corners it feels more planted and confidence inspiring. However, the R15 V4 is no slouch either and is better value for money.

Absolutely! I've been commuting on mine for six months now and it is everything I'd hoped. Great mileage, smooth ride and turns heads.

It's good, but not a revolution. It feels pretty much the same as other 150 to 160 cc bikes I've ridden. It's a bit of a stretch to call it the "dream bike."

It does live up to the hype for me. It's right on the money as far as balance between performance and comfort for city riding. No regrets buying it.

Overrated, in my opinion. To be fair, it's pretty to look at, but better fuel efficiency was what I was after. The city use of my old Pulsar was just as good.
