It makes sense to start out with an Alto. You’re better off learning the rules of the road in a forgiving car than a powerful one.

It's not the Alto, it’s the lack of proper driver education in India. No car can fix that.

I don't think it's that bad, people make it out to be. Yes, it’s not as efficient as a Maruti but the power you get compensates for it. In Mumbai traffic I'm getting about 12-13 kmpl.

It is definitely a concern relative to fuel efficiency. Everything else about the car is great, but in the city the running costs are too high, so I am thinking about selling.

People need to understand that you can't have power and great fuel efficiency in this segment. Since the XUV300 was tuned for performance, the fuel economy hit is expected.

The city driving I have found Eco mode has a lot to help. It takes a bit of fun out of it, but I'm seeing much better mileage now.

It's not a great fuel efficiency, but it's not a deal breaker for me. There are safety features and the build quality, which take up an extra fuel cost.

It's all about driving style. By avoiding harsh acceleration and keeping speeds steady where possible I've been able to get decent efficiency.

It is not unsafe, it is a characteristic of the suspension. In normal driving you won’t come across this.

People are overreacting. Many 4x4s do this and it isn't a safety issue if you drive sensibly.
