We have this obsession with "origin" that I think we need to get over. Almost all cars in these days are sharing platforms and components. That's how the industry works these days.

The real question is whether it will be reliable. But Chinese cars have a long way to go before leaving behind the reputation that has dogged them for so long.

What really interests me is how they'll price it. People won't care about its origins if it undercuts the competition significantly.

Size doesn't matter, it's about the skill of the driver. I've seen people in Innovas drive through the gullies of Old Delhi, the narrowest of gullies. The Majestor will be fine if they can do that.

We’re missing the point here, I believe. Whether it fits, or we need cars this big, it's not. Where did fuel efficiency and our carbon footprint reduction go?

It's all relative. To someone who has been used to driving a Nano, even a Swift seems big. People will get used to the Majestor's size, just like they did with other SUVs, give it time.

The thing I am more worried about is battery degradation over time. It may do 500km now, but what about after two years of Indian summers?
