Is the Fronx just a jacked up Baleno or does it have its own identity?

I can say as an owner it feels quite different from a Baleno. It's also surprisingly different in terms of the driving position, the handling of bumps, even road presence. It's its own thing.
Is the Fronx just a jacked up Baleno or does it have its own identity?

But I don’t think it’s fair to call it just a jacked up Baleno. Fronx has its own character and that unique front end design is something. Technically true, but misses the point, it's like saying the Brezza is just a tall Swift.

But also, let’s not forget the turbo petrol engine option. The Fronx has a sportier edge that the Baleno doesn't have, that in itself. It's a whole different driving experience.

I test drove them both back to back and honestly they feel like different cars. Additionally, the Fronx offers more commanding view of the road and it feels more solid. It's not just marketing hype.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

I think it looks great! It's really eye catching front end and the overall shape is sporty. It's nice to see Maruti take some risk with design.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

To be honest, it seems a little odd to me. It doesn't work from the side, the proportions are off. They couldn’t decide if it was a hatch or an SUV.

I've seen it in person and it's something that grows on you. I was so confused when I first saw it in photos, but it has a presence on the road that photos can’t quite capture.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

The design is very polarizing but that’s not a bad thing. Some buyers want a car that stands out in a sea of lookalike cars, and that’s what the new model does.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

I hate the rear end. It's the front that looks cool, but the back just feels unfinished somehow. It's as if they ran out of ideas about halfway through designing it.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

I can tell you as an owner, it turns heads. It's pretty cool for a Maruti, people are always asking about it. It's not over the top, it's just different.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

I think it is better in darker colours. They obscure some of the awkward lines and make it generally more cohesive looking.
Does the Fronx's design make it unique or just awkward?

It’s design that’s trying to be all things to all people. It’s a bit confused – it’s not quite an SUV, not quite a hatchback.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
Absolutely worth it! The Fronx feels like a totally different car by virtue of its turbo engine. But it's much more fun to drive and it feels more premium.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
Not really. For city driving the standard 1.2L is more than enough and you get better fuel efficiency. Most people don’t need the turbo in the first place.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
I love the turbo, but I can see why some wouldn't want to pay extra. It all depends on how you drive and where you drive the car the most.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
The turbo is great but think long term costs. With turbo engines, you’ll probably have to spend more on repair in the long run, and in most cases they require more maintenance.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
I test drove both and the price difference was honestly hard to justify. The 1.2L had enough zip for my purposes, and the money saved can be spent on nicer features.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
If most of your driving is on the highway, or you live in a hilly area, go turbo. In those situations, the extra torque makes a big difference.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
And since I switched from naturally aspirated to Fronx turbo, I can tell you, it’s a game changer. It’s another level of responsiveness and overtaking ability.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?

I believe the turbo is more of a bragging rights thing than a necessity. The standard engine makes more sense for most Fronx buyers who aren’t looking for a performance car.
