Is the Scorpio Classic's infotainment system a deal breaker?
27 December 2024 09:51
Well, I think it really depends on what you are using the Scorpio for. However, if that’s mainly for off roading or work purposes, the basic infotainment is fine. For daily commuters or families, it's a big miss. This aspect should have been put more effort by Mahindra.
Is the Scorpio Classic's infotainment system a deal breaker?

I know it's not the top of the line, but c'mon, how many of us use all those fancy features in other cars? Rugged, practical is the Scorpio. If you want a rolling smartphone, go buy something else.
Is the Scorpio Classic's infotainment system a deal breaker?

I'm torn on this. Yeah, it’s disappointing, on one hand. On the other, the Scorpio Classic is all about that old school charm. Is that basic infotainment system part of that, perhaps? But a software update with Android Auto wouldn’t hurt.
How does the Scorpio Classic fare as an offroader?
27 December 2024 09:51
I've taken the Scorpio Classic to some pretty rough roads and this thing can really handle 'em. It’s not as smooth as a luxury sedan, but that’s not what it’s for. And it feels solid, capable, exactly what I want in an SUV.
How does the Scorpio Classic fare as an offroader?

I'm a little disappointed, I'm honest. With all the hype about improvements, I expected better from Mahindra. It’s really annoying at high speeds and is a bit unstable when you do quick lane changes. Not cool for a car at this price.
How does the Scorpio Classic fare as an offroader?

It's a mixed bag for me. It's comfortable enough around town. On long highway drives, I start to notice that the shortcomings start to show, however. It’s not great, but it’s not terrible. Mahindra still has some work to do in this department, I think.
How does the Scorpio Classic fare as an offroader?

You guys are completely missing the point. The Scorpio isn't pretending to be a plush ride — it's a real, honest to goodness, SUV. That slight roughness is part of its make up. But if you want something that glides over bumps, get a crossover.

I actually like the ride. It's firm but not harsh. You feel connected to the road, and I like that better than a numb feeling you get in some modern SUVs. And it's better than the old Scorpio by miles, so Mahindra is surely going in the right direction.
Does the Marazzo's unique cooling system actually make any difference for the passengers?
27 December 2024 09:39
I’ve ridden in one during peak summer and it makes a difference. It doesn’t just blast from a few vents, the air is more evenly distributed. It was definitely more comfortable than other MPVs I’ve been in.
Does the Marazzo's unique cooling system actually make any difference for the passengers?
27 December 2024 09:39
Nothing revolutionary but it's okay. Yeah, it’s a bit more even, but you can get a good traditional AC system that will do the trick. It feels like Mahindra is a bit overselling it.
Does the Marazzo's unique cooling system actually make any difference for the passengers?
27 December 2024 09:39
I always get stuck in the third row, so I appreciate it. Fight over vent direction or freeze/sweat depending on where you sit no more. It's subtle, but it works.
Does the Marazzo's unique cooling system actually make any difference for the passengers?
27 December 2024 09:39
It's a nice feature, I think, but not a deal breaker. It’s more about the overall AC capacity. No fancy distribution will help if the system isn't powerful enough in 45°C heat.
Does the Marazzo's unique cooling system actually make any difference for the passengers?
27 December 2024 09:39
It's great for road trips. There's no having to crank the AC up to arctic levels to keep everyone comfortable. It also saves fuel, because you’re not constantly adjusting the temperature.
Is the Marazzo's body on frame with front wheel drive a smart compromise, or a weird halfway house?
27 December 2024 09:39
I think it's pretty clever. The durability you get for rough roads is without giving up too much on comfort and handling. Ideal for Indian conditions where you need a bit of everything.
Is the Marazzo's body on frame with front wheel drive a smart compromise, or a weird halfway house?
27 December 2024 09:39
It feels like they didn't know what they wanted it to be. Or full unibody for better dynamics, or go full body on frame and make it tougher. The worst of both might land up on this middle ground.
Is the Marazzo's body on frame with front wheel drive a smart compromise, or a weird halfway house?
27 December 2024 09:39
As an engineer, it's fascinating. It’s not conventional, but it addresses a particular need for the target market. I’d be interested to see how it fairs long term vs traditional designs.
Is the Marazzo's body on frame with front wheel drive a smart compromise, or a weird halfway house?
27 December 2024 09:39
That's a smart move for Mahindra. It's a chance to get some of their SUV tech back, while still making a family hauler that's comfortable. This saves on development costs and it provides them with a unique selling point.
Is the Marazzo's body on frame with front wheel drive a smart compromise, or a weird halfway house?
27 December 2024 09:39
I'm skeptical. Okay, maybe it will work okay, but will it be a nightmare to maintain down the road? When designs are unusual, so are the (and expensive) problems later on.
Is the Marazzo's 4 star Global NCAP rating a game changer for safety in the MPV segment?
27 December 2024 09:39
It's definitely a big deal. Since most MPVs in India are death traps on wheels, having one with actual safety credentials is big. It might make other brands raise their game too.
Is the Marazzo's 4 star Global NCAP rating a game changer for safety in the MPV segment?
27 December 2024 09:39
It’s 4 stars, which is good, but let’s not pretend it’s revolutionary. These days plenty of cars get 5 stars. It's not something to brag about, it should be the minimum standard.
