Is the Electric XUV300’s infotainment system going to be a step up, or is it going to be more Mahindra software quirks?

The real acid test will be whether it integrates EV–specific features such as range prediction and charging station info. And that’s where many manufacturers stumble.
Is the Electric XUV300’s infotainment system going to be a step up, or is it going to be more Mahindra software quirks?
02 January 2025 05:48
The infotainment on the XUV700 actually is pretty good. It could be a solid system if they build on that for the Electric XUV300.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?
02 January 2025 05:48
However, EVs tend to be cheaper to maintain, but that battery replacement cost down the road could be a nasty surprise. It's a gamble.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?
02 January 2025 05:48
I believe that in the long run it'll be cheaper. Less wear and tear, no oil changes, fewer moving parts and regenerative braking. The savings will add up.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?

The real question is whether Mahindra has engineered the electric powertrain well. It may be as simple as maintenance if it is solid. But if not, you’re in for a world of expensive repairs.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?
02 January 2025 05:48
Don’t forget about software maintenance. Mahindra updates EVs often and if they make you pay for that, it can add up.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?
02 January 2025 05:48
The Electric XUV300 will be a challenge to maintain, and I worry about finding qualified mechanics for it, outside of metro cities. At least the ICE version is something any local garage can handle basic maintenance on.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?
02 January 2025 05:48
What I'm really worried about is the battery degradation. That's a form of maintenance cost, in terms of reduced usability if it loses significant range after a few years.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?
02 January 2025 05:48
Let's be optimistic. They've been improving their quality and they know the EV game is key to their future. And they will likely try to make it reliable.
Will the Electric XUV300 be more reliable and have lower maintenance costs over the long term than its ICE sibling?

One thing to consider is how lower insurance costs on the EV can be possible. Less moving parts tend to be less likely to fail mechanically.
The Mahindra Electric XUV300 has been a long time coming, but is it worth the wait over the ICE variant?
02 January 2025 05:48
I would tell you to wait for the electric version. Mahindra’s been doing well with their recent EVs, and the XUV300 electric could be a game changer. And you’ll be future proofing your purchase.
The Mahindra Electric XUV300 has been a long time coming, but is it worth the wait over the ICE variant?
02 January 2025 05:48
Nah, go for the now. How long do I have to wait for something that keeps getting delayed? You know what you're getting with the current XUV300, it's a solid car. India is still a bit of a gamble for EVs.
The Mahindra Electric XUV300 has been a long time coming, but is it worth the wait over the ICE variant?
02 January 2025 05:48
It depends on your usage. If you’re mainly driving in town and have access to charging, the electric version might be amazing. The ICE version is still more practical for long highway trips, though.
The Mahindra Electric XUV300 has been a long time coming, but is it worth the wait over the ICE variant?
02 January 2025 05:48
I'm torn on this. With promising electric XUV300, Mahindra's past record with electronics isn't great. Do you remember the early XUV500 issues? I'd watch out to not be an early adopter.
The Mahindra Electric XUV300 has been a long time coming, but is it worth the wait over the ICE variant?
02 January 2025 05:48
Why not consider both? Now get the ICE version and trade up to electric when the tech is more mature and charging infrastructure has improved.
Will the handling of the Electric XUV300 be as fun as the ICE version or will the battery weight kill the dynamics?
02 January 2025 05:48
I believe the Electric XUV300 might actually be better to drive. The battery pack should give the car a low center of gravity that could make it more planted in corners.
Will the handling of the Electric XUV300 be as fun as the ICE version or will the battery weight kill the dynamics?
02 January 2025 05:48
No way, man. It's going to feel like a boat because of the added weight. A well tuned ICE car is nothing beats nimble.
Will the handling of the Electric XUV300 be as fun as the ICE version or will the battery weight kill the dynamics?
02 January 2025 05:48
They'll be different, not necessarily worse. It could feel more 'instant' through the 'instant' torque of electric motors.
Will the handling of the Electric XUV300 be as fun as the ICE version or will the battery weight kill the dynamics?
02 January 2025 05:48
I'm optimistic. Mahindra has been improving their suspension tuning game and they may surprise us with how well they balance the extra weight.
Will the handling of the Electric XUV300 be as fun as the ICE version or will the battery weight kill the dynamics?
02 January 2025 05:48
I suppose the handling may be fine, but electric power steering tends to have a fake feel to it. The fun factor could be really what could kill it.
