Is long term battery degradation going to be a concern with the XUV400's battery?
02 January 2025 05:54
I am a bit worried about the battery chemistry. Indian conditions seem to be more suited to LFP. If Mahindra's cooling system is good enough, it won't be an issue.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
Not at all! One of the best things about EVs is the single speed transmission. It accelerates smoothly, continuously, without any gear shifting. Highway cruising is perfect.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
I do think it's a limitation. The power tapers off at higher speeds. It would have been great to have a two speed gearbox (as in some premium EVs) to make it more highway capable.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
It’s only a limitation if you’re expecting it to drive like an ICE car. If you get used to the EV driving style the single speed transmission feels natural and efficient.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
I was a bit skeptical, but once I test drove the XUV400 on the highway, I’m convinced. Despite no gears, the instant torque makes up for that at higher speeds.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
It's definitely a compromise. It’s fine for most driving, but you do notice the difference on long highway stretches and when you are trying to overtake on a higher speed.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
People overthink this. On the highway, the XUV400 has more than enough power. The single speed transmission not only keeps things simple and reliable, but crucial for a mass market EV.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
In fact, I like the single speed set up the best. Driving on long trips is much easier. There is no gear change to worry about or be in the wrong gear.
Does the XUV400’s single speed transmission limit highway driving?
02 January 2025 05:54
It's a trade-off. It's simple, you lose some high speed efficiency, but you gain low speed performance. I believe it is the right choice for most Indian driving conditions.
Is the XUV400’s interior good enough to be a deal breaker?
02 January 2025 05:54
It's not a deal breaker, honestly. It's not the fanciest interior out there, but it works. Soft touch plastics everywhere I'd rather have better range and performance.
Is the XUV400’s interior good enough to be a deal breaker?
02 January 2025 05:54
It's definitely a letdown. The interior should be a lot better for the price they're asking. I went and tested one and I just couldn't get over how cheap everything felt. Mahindra needs to step up their game, it’s 2024.
Is the XUV400’s interior good enough to be a deal breaker?
02 January 2025 05:54
It depends on your priorities, I think. Yeah, if you're coming from a premium car you will definitely notice the difference. If you care more about EV experience and performance, then go for it. Plus, it's easier to clean!
Is the XUV400’s interior good enough to be a deal breaker?
02 January 2025 05:54
It’s a big miss for me on the interior. Until I sat inside, I was really excited about the XUV400. In fact, it feels like they just slapped some EV tech on an old XUV300 and called it a day. Not cool, Mahindra.
Is the XUV400’s interior good enough to be a deal breaker?
02 January 2025 05:54
The interior actually doesn't bother me. It's simple and functional. On top of that, the money saved on fancy materials means you're getting a lot more car per buck in terms of range and features.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
Absolutely! Every rupee spent on the extra power and range of the XUV400 is worth it. It’s way more fun to drive and you don’t have to worry about range as much.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
Nah, it's overpriced. The Nexon EV is good enough for a city driving and has plenty of power. Also, Tata has better branding for EVs in India.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
Well, I think it depends on the usage you’re going to have. The XUV400 makes sense if you’re doing lots of highway driving. The Nexon EV is probably better value for city use.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
It is great performance but I'm not sure it's worth the price difference. Tata has a little more experience in the EV game and Mahindra is still new. The Nexon would make me feel safer.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
I'd say it's worth it. The XUV400 doesn’t feel like a converted ICE vehicle; it feels more like a ‘proper’ EV. For the extra range alone, it’s worth the price bump.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
Performance is not all there is to it. The XUV400 is better featured, more premium overall. It is definitely worth spending the extra cash if you can afford it.
