Why does the RS250 have a headlight?

There is no way, RS250 is definitely winner here. It’s more characterful and more fun to ride. The Gixxer is smooth and sure, but boring. Also, Bajaj has a huge service network, which is a boon for long term ownership. If that matters to you, you're surely turning more heads as well with the RS250.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS250 worth the hype?

I’ve had the RS250 for about 6 months now and it has been a little bit of a let down. It looks cool, but the performance doesn’t quite live up to the aggressive styling. However, for a 250cc bike, I expected more oomph. It is also too committed for a riding position that will suit daily commutes. I am already thinking of switching to something more practical.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS250 worth the hype?

The RS250 is great as someone who upgraded from a 150cc bike! The Power bump is appreciated and the handling on twisty bits felt a dream. It is more expensive than other Pulsars, but you get what you pay for. The quality of those things and the features are just a step up. It's not perfect but it's hard to beat for a sports bike in this segment.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS250 worth the hype?

I was super hyped for the RS250 but after test riding it, I chose the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. It also felt rough around the edges in the Pulsar. At higher RPMs it was annoying with the vibrations and the seat is not comfortable for longer rides. A not bad bike but I thought for the money I should have had more refinement.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS250 worth the hype?

I had a KTM Duke 250 and a few other bikes, and I must say that I was not disappointed with the RS250. Neither fastest nor most refined, it is a good balance. It turns heads with the looks and is comfortable enough for city riding and weekend trips. Bajaj's extensive service network is the real value. All in all, I’d say it delivers about 80% of the hype.
What is long ride experience like on the Pulsar RS250?
31 January 2025 11:02
I decided to take my RS250 on a 500km weekend trip and it was surprisingly decent. The riding position is not as extreme as that, and the seat is firm but supportive. At highway speeds, wind protection is okay. The only real issue was that after a few hours, there was vibration in the footpegs. All in all, it is not a touring bike, though it is capable of long rides if you are determined.
What is long ride experience like on the Pulsar RS250?

Long rides on the RS250? No way, man. I attempted a 300km day trip and my back was aching by the end. After two hours, the seat feels like a plank and high speed wind blast tires you out. Also, the small fuel tank necessitates frequent stops. This is a sports tourer pretending to be a city bike.
What is long ride experience like on the Pulsar RS250?

It's all about expectations. Of course, when you compare it to a proper touring bike, it will fall short. However, for a sports bike not bad. I've done a few day 400km rides on it and with some mods (softer seat, taller wind screen) it's comfortable enough. If you work long hours without breaks and not stretching, then this is probably what’s causing your pain.
What is long ride experience like on the Pulsar RS250?

I can also say that long rides on the RS250 as a pillion rider are not fun. The rear seat is tiny, hard, and you have nothing to hold onto comfortably. After about an hour I am begging for a break. If you intend to ride two up a lot then look elsewhere.
What is long ride experience like on the Pulsar RS250?

I think the RS250 actually handles long rides well enough for most people to give it credit for. It is definitely sportier than the average tourer, and that only encourages it. At cruising speeds the engine is smooth and the handling levels confidence on twisty roads. A great weekend getaway bike with a tank bag for essentials. It isn’t going to feel like a Gold Wing, but I wouldn’t call it too uncomfortable.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 really the hype?
31 January 2025 10:39
I'm skeptical. Bajaj is good at the lower end, but a big jump to 400cc. They will be facing some serious players and I do not know if they have the expertise to compete with the refinement of bikes like KTM RC 390.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 really the hype?
31 January 2025 10:39
It depends on the price point. The trick will be for Bajaj to undercut the competition by a vast amount while still delivering similar performance. However, if the price is too close to other existing brands in the market, there may be no place for it.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 really the hype?

I am a Pulsar fan and RS400 is one of my favorites. I think Bajaj has always given great value, and I believe they have learnt a lot from their tie up with KTM. If they can bring some of that knowledge to the RS400 it would be an awesome bike at a killer price.

It is not to be forgotten that Bajaj has been improving their build quality and refinement consistently. The RS400 is the one that could be their chance to show they can mix it with the men. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 really the hype?

The question is whether it can carve out its own niche. The brand name must be unique and different from the premium brands and budget options. If Bajaj nails that balance, that hype will be justified.

Well, it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. Two different kinds of riders are targeted by the Dominar and RS400. While the Dominar is a sports tourer more, the RS400 will be a pure sports bike. Bajaj has space for both in its line up.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 really the hype?

It's definitely a concern. They are both 400cc bikes and manufactured by the same company. If Bajaj does not differentiate them in terms of features and riding position, it could be competing for the same customer.

I feel it would aid Dominar sales. The more attention the RS400 gets for Bajaj’s 400cc range in general, the more chances are for some of those who come to see the RS400 to opt for the more comfortable Dominar.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar RS400 really the hype?

I’m more worried about that because this will have an adverse impact on Bajaj’s relationship with KTM. As a result, the RC 390 could even fight against the RS400. That’ll be interesting to see how they’ll deal with that potential conflict I think.

Is it possible Bajaj is phasing out the Dominar and replacing it with the RS400? Perhaps it’s a way to offer a new angle to their 400cc lineup without having to own up to the Dominar not delivering as they had hoped.
