What is the Aprilia Tuono 660 like to tour on?

The biggest issue is the fuel range. On long trips it's annoying having to stop every 120-150 miles.

I tour on mine regularly. It’s not a Gold Wing, but it’s a lot more fun on the backroads you’ll want to explore.

Absolutely! I'm 6'2" and was on a Tuono 660 when I started. For taller riders, the upright position is great and the power is manageable if you know what you’re doing.

I'd be cautious. It is comfortable for tall riders, but 95hp may be too much for a beginner. Maybe you should look at something like a CB500F first.

It all depends on your self control. The Tuono 660 has great electronics that will help new riders, but you still need to respect the power.

I think it's a great choice. In terms of ergonomics, the bike's spot on for taller riders and you won't outgrow it as quickly as a smaller bike.

I had started on a 300cc and as a tall rider, I wish I'd gone straight to something like the Tuono 660. It is versatile and you can grow into it.

Regardless of height, it’s a bit much for a first bike. It’s not cheap and it’s not easy to drop, so I would not recommend it to new riders.

Tall beginners will love the Tuono 660! The riding modes let you be conservative and work your way up into more power as you get more comfortable.

Aprilia's electronics are top notch. The APRC system is very complex and has a lot of user customization. It's definitely on par in terms of, if not better than, most competitors.

The Aprilia's electronics are a little overwhelming to me. It’s so distracting because there are so many options and settings. Other brands have a more intuitive interface.

The Tuono’s electronics are there when you need them, but don’t get in the way when you don’t. They find a nice balance between safety and letting you actually feel the bike.

The Tuono wheelie control is phenomenal. It is fun without being overboard. Other bikes I’ve tried are either too intrusive, or not effective enough.

I love how customizable the Aprilia’s electronics are. It's really easy to fine tune the bike to your riding style, more so than on a lot of other bikes that I've ridden.

ABS on the Tuono in the corners is a game changer. It just gives you so much confidence in corners. I’ve ridden bikes with it, I’ve ridden bikes without it, and the difference is night and day.

For what it is, it’s surprisingly comfortable. Long rides are way better upright than a sportbike. All you need to do is add a windscreen and you’re set.

Comfortable? Maybe for a couple of hours. A dedicated sport tourer, however, would be better suited to real long distance riding. It gets tiring as you don't have any wind protection.

I’ve done 500 mile days on my Tuono. It’s not plush, but it’s doable. It’s all about taking lots of breaks and maybe even buying a better seat.

The biggest issue on long rides for me is fuel range. Breaking up the rhythm of a long journey is having to stop every 100 miles or so.
