Our take on this /// Verdict
The Toyota Hilux is a formidable pickup truck that excels in its intended role as a versatile and rugged vehicle. Its strong engine, coupled with a smooth gearbox and robust 4x4 capabilities, makes it a reliable choice for both on-road and off-road adventures. The Hilux boasts a full suite of safety features, comfortable front seats, and a practical interior design, although the rear seats are less accommodating. While it may not be the best fit for urban driving due to its size and cumbersome handling in tight spaces, it shines in its ability to handle heavy payloads and navigate challenging terrain. The lack of certain features like cruise control and hill descent control in some variants is a minor drawback, but overall, the Hilux is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and capable pickup truck.
Price
The Toyota Hilux in India comes with a significant price tag, reflecting its premium status and robust features. The ex-showroom price for the Hilux can range from around 35 lakh to over 40 lakh, depending on the variant and transmission choice. Once you factor in on-road costs, including taxes, registration, and insurance, the price can easily exceed 45 lakh. While this is expensive, the Hiluxs proven reliability, strong performance, and extensive feature list justify the cost for those who need its unique capabilities. However, for casual buyers, the price might be a deterrent, especially when compared to other SUVs in the market.

Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 11:16 AM The Toyota Hilux offers decent fuel efficiency considering its size and capabilities. With a manual transmission, you can expect around 12-13 kmpl on highways and about 10-12 kmpl on rural roads or off-road conditions. This is respectable for a vehicle of its class and payload capacity. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option, the Hiluxs mileage is manageable, especially when you consider the power and utility it provides.

I agree with Tej... Though the Hilux is what i would want (not this one... an older and better looking model)... the 4 door version though... this one is too ugly. They are legendary in being tough (first to drive to the north pole, first to drive to an active volcano) but 26 for an ugly car that, apparently, is not a 4x4. No one will buy it in the commercial segment and with the flat bed shown in this picture, no one will buy it in the lifestyle segment.
