About
The Tata Sumo, if revived in its modern form, would be a significant offering in the Indian SUV market. It would likely come with a robust 2.0-liter diesel engine, producing 175 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, making it capable of handling various terrains and loads. The new Sumo could feature a monocoque chassis for improved safety and handling, along with advanced safety features such as airbags and ABS. The vehicle would retain its spacious interior, a hallmark of the Sumo, making it ideal for family use or commercial purposes. With its Mercedes G-Wagen-inspired styling and modern detailing, the new Sumo would blend nostalgia with contemporary design, appealing to both loyal customers and new buyers looking for a rugged yet comfortable SUV.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Sumo, particularly the Sumo Gold or its potential modern iterations, holds a significant place in the Indian automotive landscape. From my perspective, the Sumo has always been known for its ruggedness, spacious interior, and robust build quality. If Tata were to revive the Sumo with modern amenities and safety features, it could carve a niche in the SUV market, especially given the current trend of SUVs dominating the market. The Sumos loyal fan base and its historical success suggest that a well-executed revival could be highly successful. However, it is crucial for Tata to balance the nostalgic appeal with contemporary design and safety standards, such as a monocoque chassis and advanced safety features, to make it competitive in todays market.
Price
While the exact pricing for a new, modern Tata Sumo is speculative at this point, historical context and market analysis provide some insights. If Tata decides to launch a revamped Sumo, it is likely to be priced competitively to target a wide audience. A price range between 9.5 lakhs to 13.5 lakhs ex-showroom could make it an attractive option, considering the current market dynamics. On-road prices would vary depending on the state and local taxes, but it could range from 11 lakhs to 16 lakhs. This pricing strategy would position the Sumo as a viable alternative to other SUVs in the market, offering a blend of ruggedness, space, and affordability.

The mileage of the Tata Sumo, especially with its anticipated 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 175 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, is expected to be reasonable given its size and purpose. Tata Sumo Extreme Discussion
modifications for suv
1.hope TATA will reduce the length of this vehicle from 4.258 m to sub 4 meter cateogary....to get some more benefits for
2.also they should increase its bhp to gets more acceleration to touch 0-100 mark in less than 18 sec (currently this 3 lit. cr4 engine do the same job in more than 25 sec).....
3. they should also try to reduce some weight to increase the mileage of this vehicle, if they launch in under 4 meter category there is great mileage fight between ford eco sport and upcomming small suv
4. the interior build and finish should be improved to make competition with other sub 4 meter.....
5. the shockups should be made not to stiff not to soft.....like tata safari haves......
6. the launch price should be between under 6.5 to 7.5 lakh for 4x4 version.
