Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Safari Storme EX 4x2 is a robust and reliable SUV that stands out for its exceptional ride quality, generous space, and formidable road presence. While it may not be the most feature-rich vehicle in its segment, lacking modern amenities like automatic climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system, it compensates with its go-anywhere capability and a smooth, powerful engine. The 200mm ground clearance and shift-on-the-fly 4x4 option make it a great choice for off-road enthusiasts. However, the absence of an automatic transmission variant and the cramped third row of seats are notable drawbacks. Despite these, the Safari Storme remains a cult favorite among auto enthusiasts for its ruggedness and commanding presence on the road.
Price
The Tata Safari Storme EX 4x2 is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant starts around Rs. 13.16 lakh. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other taxes, the price can go up to around Rs. 16-17 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes it a value-for-money proposition, especially considering the space, comfort, and performance it offers. However, its important to compare prices across different dealerships and consider any ongoing offers or discounts to get the best deal.
Latest Updates
Friday, 08 November 2024 04:39 AM
The Tata Safari Storme has been praised for its brilliant ride quality and generous space for occupants. However, it lacks modern features such as automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and multi-information display. Despite these shortcomings, the Safari Storme remains popular for its durability and off-road prowess. I think the lack of modern amenities is a significant drawback in todays market.

Tata Motors has officially discontinued the Tata Safari Storme after more than two decades of service. The Safari Storme, known for its robust build and off-road capabilities, will be replaced by the Tata Gravitas (Harrier 7-seat) in the market. This move marks the end of an era for a vehicle that was also adopted by the Indian Army. I believe this is a significant shift, as the Gravitas brings more modern features and design to the table.

Tata Motors rolled out its 1500th GS800 (General Service 800) Safari Storme SUV for the Indian Armed Forces. This milestone underscores the vehicles reliability and suitability for military use. The Safari Stormes performance and features have made it an integral part of the Indian Armys fleet. I believe this highlights the vehicles robustness and adaptability.

Tata Motors commenced deliveries of the Safari Storme to the Indian Army, replacing the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy. The Safari Storme was chosen for its off-road capabilities, hard top, and 800 kg payload capacity. This contract involved supplying 3,192 units of the Safari Storme 4x4 model. I believe this was a strategic win for Tata, showcasing the vehicles reliability and performance.
Wednesday, 09 December 2015 06:25 AM
The Tata Safari Storme was recently updated with new features, including bigger 17-inch alloy wheels and enhanced engine options. The VARICOR 400 version, in particular, offers a 2.2-litre diesel engine with 156PS and 400Nm of torque, along with a shift-on-fly 4x4 drivetrain. This update aimed to keep the Safari Storme competitive in the SUV market. I think these updates were a good move to extend the vehicles lifespan.
