Tata Vista Diesel VX

About
The Tata Vista Diesel VX is built on the X1 platform and is known for its spacious interior, which is one of its key selling points. The car features a 1.4-liter Quadrajet diesel engine that produces 75 bhp and 190 Nm of torque, making it suitable for both city and highway driving. The interior is equipped with features like height-adjustable driver seats, adjustable lumbar support, and Bluetooth connectivity. The ride quality is commendable, thanks to the dual path suspension in the rear, which absorbs most road bumps effectively. However, the car does suffer from some body roll and understeer, particularly during hard cornering. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Vista VX offers a comfortable driving experience, ample space, and good fuel efficiency, making it a practical choice for Indian buyers.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Vista Diesel VX is a practical and value-for-money option in the Indian market. While it may not stand out in terms of design, it excels in comfort, space, and fuel efficiency. The Quadrajet diesel engine provides adequate performance, especially in the city and on highways, with a decent 0-100 kmh time of around 16 seconds. However, the steering feel is somewhat lacking, and high-speed stability could be improved. The ride quality, though, is one of its strong points, making it a comfortable choice for long drives. Despite some minor issues with interior quality and the centrally mounted instrument cluster, the Vista VX offers a lot of value for its price, making it a solid choice for those prioritizing practicality and fuel economy.
Price
The Tata Vista Diesel VX, although discontinued, was priced competitively during its time. The ex-showroom price for the Vista Quadrajet VX variant was around Rs. 5.90 lakh. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, would have been approximately Rs. 7-8 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. Given its features, space, and fuel efficiency, the Vista VX was a good value proposition. However, since it is no longer in production, buyers would need to consider the used car market or newer models from Tata.
