The current generation Nissan Patrol Y62, powered by a 5.6L V8 engine, is set to be phased out with the introduction of the new Y63 model. The V8 engine delivers 298 kW of power and 560 Nm of torque, making it a favorite among off-road enthusiasts. The 2024 Y62 Patrol Ti has been updated with modern tech, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and advanced driver-assistance systems. If youre a fan of V8 power, now is the time to grab one before theyre gone.

The new seventh-generation Nissan Patrol boasts a redesigned cabin with quilted leather seats inspired by traditional Japanese woodwork, offering massage functionality and eight-way adjustment. The interior also features a double bubble panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker audio system, and 64-colourway mood lighting. Additionally, the Biometric Cooling air conditioning system adjusts airflow based on the drivers sweat levels. I think these luxury features make the Patrol a compelling choice for both off-road adventures and daily driving.

Nissan has announced that the new Patrol will have an extra 30% more space than the previous model, resulting in additional storage space throughout the vehicle. The new model also includes air suspension as standard and six driving modes, along with a new transfer mode interlock system. The vehicle will go on sale in select Middle Eastern regions from November 2024, before expanding to other markets. I believe the increased space and advanced suspension will make the Patrol even more practical and comfortable.

The 2024 Nissan Patrol Warrior in Australia has seen a price increase due to the new infotainment system and other upgrades. The vehicle now costs $104,160, up from the previous price. Despite the increase, the additions such as the centre console cool box, video rear-view mirror, and dual-zone climate control for the second row make it a better value. I think the upgrades are worth the extra cost for those who value modern amenities in their off-road vehicle.

Nissans decision to replace the V8 engine with a twin-turbo V6 in the new Patrol has sparked mixed reactions. While the new engine offers more power and torque, fans of the V8 are lamenting its demise. The V8 engine has been a hallmark of the Patrols performance and character, and its loss is seen as the end of an era. I think the change will attract new buyers but may alienate some loyal V8 enthusiasts.

The new Nissan Patrol features Nissan’s Google-driven Connect 2.0 software, which controls various functions including the ProPilot safety suite. This suite includes advanced safety features like emergency braking, lane departure warning, and the Invisible Hood View setting for better off-road visibility. I believe this integration of modern technology enhances both safety and convenience.

The seventh-generation Nissan Patrol will not be available in the UK market, despite its global rollout. The vehicle will initially go on sale in the Middle East and later in other regions, excluding Britain. This decision has disappointed UK enthusiasts who were looking forward to the new model. I think this is a missed opportunity for Nissan in a significant market.

For the 2024 model year, the Nissan Patrol in Australia has received a significant update to its infotainment system, now featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This upgrade, done locally in Australia, also includes DAB digital radio, a wireless phone charging pocket, and a higher definition reversing camera. The Patrol Warrior model has seen a price increase of $3000 to $104,160, but the added features make it worthwhile. I think this update has breathed new life into an otherwise aging model.

The seventh-generation Nissan Patrol has been unveiled, marking a significant departure from its predecessor with the introduction of a twin-turbo V6 engine, replacing the traditional V8. This new engine produces 431bhp and 516lb ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The new model also features advanced technology, including a 28.6-inch Monolith infotainment system, a 14.3-inch driving display, and a ProPilot safety suite with an Invisible Hood View setting. I think this tech overhaul makes the Patrol more appealing than ever.

Nissan has confirmed that the new Patrol will also be available with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 engine, which will serve as the base model. This engine produces 316 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque, and is expected to be more reliable and cheaper than the twin-turbo variant. However, it will likely have higher fuel consumption. I believe this option will attract buyers looking for a more straightforward, less complex engine.

The interior has been significantly upgraded with high-quality materials, a dual-screen setup, and improved legroom and rear seat entertainment options. The interior of the 2025 Nissan Patrol has been significantly upgraded with premium materials such as quilted leather upholstery, soft touch surfaces, and brushed metal accents. The cabin is more spacious, and the center console features a dual-screen setup for navigation, infotainment, and climate controls. The 2025 Nissan Patrol is expected to start at around $56,000 USD for the base model, with fully loaded variants reaching up to $85,000 or more. Despite the higher price, the Patrol offers a competitive package of refinement, technology, and all-terrain capability. I think the pricing is justified given the extensive upgrades and features.

Nissan has focused on making the 2025 Patrol look as at home in the city as it does off-road. The exterior design includes new alloy wheel options ranging from 18 to 22 inches, and the tail lights have been updated with a more refined LED design. The rear bumper has been subtly reshaped to add a sportier feel. I believe this balance between urban and off-road styling will appeal to a wide range of buyers.

Under the hood, the 2025 Nissan Patrol will offer two new engine options: a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine delivering 425HP and 700Nm of torque, and a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine producing 316HP and 386Nm of torque. These engines are paired with a new 9-speed automatic transmission and feature advanced technologies like mirror bore coating and high heat-resistant turbochargers. Discussions and Questions Nissan Patrol
Do recent models of the Nissan Patrol have lost the edge they always had with off road?
06 January 2025 09:25
For those of you who are off road aficionados and regularly take your Y62 off road, I can assure you it is still an incredibly capable vehicle. Both advanced 4WD system and air suspension make a huge difference. Sure, it’s fancy, but it can get dirty with the best of them.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?
06 January 2025 09:25
It’s a concern, but I won’t lose sleep over it. The fuel costs are nothing compared to the reliability and capability of the Patrol. And I don't daily drive it around the city, either.
Is the popularity of the Nissan Patrol in the Middle East the reason people think it's popular everywhere?
06 January 2025 09:25
It earns popularity in the Middle East. It's not just a status thing, it's actually well suited for the environment. However, with that said, Nissan could do a little better job of marketing its benefits in other regions.
Is the new Nissan Patrol Y63 a worthy successor to the previous ones?
06 January 2025 09:25
It's a natural evolution, the Y63. It's more luxurious, yes, but that's what the market wants these days. But it still has the power and capability for off roading, just with more comfort. Naturally, you can't fault Nissan for giving people what they want.
How reliable is the Nissan Patrol really, or is it all hype?
06 January 2025 09:25
I don’t think the reliability is as overhyped as everyone makes it out to be. They’re solid vehicles but I’ve had my fair share of issues with mine. Electrical systems can be a pain and parts aren’t always easy to find.
