Maruti NEXA Baleno Sigma (Base Model)

The Baleno Sigma is the base petrol manual variant, so it focuses on essentials rather than premium features, but it still includes 6 airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, reverse parking sensors, 60:40 split rear seats, power windows and manual AC. It suits buyers who want the Baleno’s space, mileage and safety kit at the lowest entry price, while expecting to add infotainment and some convenience features later.

Value-focused buyers should consider the Baleno Sigma if they want the latest Baleno basics without paying for the touchscreen-heavy higher trims, because it now covers the core safety and everyday-use items while staying the most affordable entry point. Its main compromise is the very bare cabin equipment list, so it suits buyers who are fine adding infotainment or comfort features later rather than paying upfront.

The Baleno Sigma base model now stands out for its stronger standard safety kit, including 6 airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist and rear parking sensors, which makes it a much better value entry point than older bare-bones base trims.

The 2026 Baleno Sigma also gets a more complete everyday equipment list than before, with all four power windows, keyless entry, manual AC, a height-adjustable driver-side auto up/down window, a 60:40 split rear seat and a provision to fit an infotainment system later.

For buyers focused on running costs and urban use, the Sigma continues with the 1.2-litre petrol manual setup and a claimed efficiency of 23.8 kmpl, while the latest pricing keeps it positioned as the most affordable Baleno variant at about ₹5.99 lakh ex-showroom.

Sigma sits at the base of the 2026 Maruti NEXA Baleno lineup in India at Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 6.10 lakh ex-showroom, and it keeps the focus on essentials rather than convenience features; recent coverage places it with the 1.2-litre petrol, 5-speed manual, six airbags, ESC, hill-hold assist, reverse parking sensors, and steel wheels with covers.

The Baleno Sigma base model in India is a 1.2-litre petrol manual with an ARAI-claimed mileage of 23.8 kmpl, so it is the most fuel-focused entry point in the range for buyers who want low running costs without moving to higher trims. AAI-claimed figures are test-cycle numbers, so real-world efficiency will usually be lower and depend on traffic, driving style and air-conditioner use.

A useful update for 2026 buyers is that the Baleno’s fuel-efficiency figures remain strong in the latest listings, with the Sigma petrol manual continuing at 23.8 kmpl while the wider Baleno range now stretches to higher-claimed outputs in AMT and CNG versions. For someone choosing the base trim, that means the Sigma still offers the same claimed mileage advantage without paying for features that do not affect efficiency.

Another recent buying-point update is pricing context: in October 2026 listings, the Sigma remains the value-oriented petrol manual variant, with its mileage staying at 23.8 kmpl and its fuel tank size unchanged at 37 litres. That combination suits buyers prioritising highway range and predictable fuel bills, while still keeping the car in the mainstream hatchback efficiency bracket.
