Mahindra TUV300 T6 Plus AMT (Diesel)

About
The Mahindra TUV300 T6 Plus AMT (Diesel) is a 7-seater SUV that stands out for its robust build and enhanced performance. Powered by the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine, which produces 120 BHP and 280 Nm of torque, this variant offers significantly improved driveability and power compared to the standard TUV300. The vehicle features a 5-speed AMT transmission, making it the cheapest automatic SUV in India. It boasts a spacious cabin, although the third row is best suited for kids or short adults, and the second row legroom is slightly reduced in the Plus variant. The SUV comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard safety features. Additional features include a 7-inch touchscreen system, adjustable lumbar support, and static bending lamps. With its increased boot space of up to 696 litres and good road presence, the TUV300 Plus AMT is a solid choice for those needing a durable, feature-rich, and powerful SUV.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra TUV300 T6 Plus AMT (Diesel) is a robust and feature-packed SUV that caters well to those seeking a rugged and spacious vehicle. The inclusion of the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine in the Plus variant significantly enhances its performance, making it a viable alternative to older models like the Scorpio and Bolero. However, its important to note that the ride quality, though improved, still lacks the cushiness of car-based rivals, and the steering can be heavy at low speeds. The vehicles build quality is typical Mahindra heavy and tough, but not precise. Despite some drawbacks, such as reduced legroom in the second row and limited space in the third row suitable only for kids or short adults, the TUV300 Plus AMT offers a compelling package with its strong engine, good road presence, and ample boot space. For those prioritizing durability, space, and off-road capability, this SUV is definitely worth considering.
Price
The Mahindra TUV300 T6 Plus AMT (Diesel) is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant ranges from approximately Rs. 9.19 lakhs to Rs. 9.59 lakhs, depending on the location and any additional features. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can range from around Rs. 10.5 lakhs to Rs. 11.5 lakhs. This pricing makes it an attractive option for those looking for a feature-rich and powerful SUV without breaking the bank. However, its crucial to factor in the additional cost of the AMT transmission, which adds a premium of around Rs. 72,000 over the manual variant. Despite this, the overall value proposition remains strong, especially considering the robust build, enhanced engine, and comprehensive safety features.

A Good Package From Mahindra

I was quite excited for this SUV from a very long time. It is a good effort by the Indian automaker and has an attractive price as compared to competitors. If we see other compact SUVs, it does drive well and has lots of space and features on offer. It is so spacious that it feels much bigger than its actual size. It has a very boxy design where the alloy wheels look very small and make the design feel incomplete. Its interior look modern and the color combination is quite good. There is lots of legroom at the rear and has enough space for three people. It has a third row with fold-able jump seats and there are no seat-belts. The seats are decently comfortable and overall visibility from the driver's seat is amazing. Its power delivery is good and it has very good low-end and mid-range punch. The top-end is lacking in performance. Braking performance of this SUV is decent but the brake pedal lacks feel. The brakes feel spongy although they do manage to stop the vehicle efficiently. The company has good number of service stations so TUV300 buyers need not worry about servicing.

One of the Best Deals for the Budget Buyers

I was planning to buy EcoSport but because of its five seat configuration, I dropped my plan. Then I thought about 7-seater SUVs but they were out of my budget. But thanks to my friend he suggested me TUV300 and now I am going to book this. Its aggressive look and bold styling give its strong presence on the road. It has high ground clearance and side-foot steps make its convenient for the passenger. I like its interior too which is designed by dual tone dashboard and the premium fabric upholstery. It has two seat arrangement at the third row which is comfortable for kids as well as adult with average built. The headroom and legroom is just wonderful for the stress free ride. Most of it, company has claimed its mileage around 18 kmpl which I think is a decent figure for a SUV. I am very happy with its launch and now waiting for its booking.
