The 2023 Hyundai Verna petrol, particularly the 1.5-litre turbo petrol variant, is a significant upgrade in the midsize sedan segment. What stands out is its powerful and refined engine, delivering 160 hp and 253 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful in its class. The driving experience is enhanced by the smooth 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT transmissions. The Verna also boasts a generous increase in rear-seat space, a feature-rich cabin with a 10.25-inch curved infotainment system, and cooled as well as heated front seats. Safety is a strong suit with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, and other advanced safety features. However, the lack of steering feedback at high speeds and the slightly stiffer suspension are minor drawbacks. Overall, the Verna is a confident and enjoyable car to drive, especially within city limits, and it certainly moves up a notch in terms of performance, comfort, and technology.
