Honda City Edge Edition

About
The Honda City Edge Edition is a well-rounded sedan that excels in several key areas. It boasts a powerful and refined 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, paired with a smooth 6-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT automatic. The interior is spacious and well-appointed, with features like a one-touch electric sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system, and ample storage spaces. The rear seat is particularly comfortable, offering generous knee room and under-thigh support. Safety features are robust, including multiple airbags and a reinforced frame. The cars suspension strikes a good balance between comfort and stability, making it suitable for both urban and highway driving. While it may lack some advanced features like wheel well insulation and a 360-degree camera, it remains a solid choice for those seeking a reliable, comfortable, and feature-rich sedan.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda City Edge Edition is a stellar choice for those seeking a balance of style, comfort, and performance. This variant stands out with its refined 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, which is a joy to drive, especially with the slick 6-speed manual transmission. The cars interior space and build quality are commendable, comparable to some D-segment sedans, making it an ideal family car. The rear seat comfort and space are unparalleled in its segment, and the addition of features like a sunroof, LED exterior lighting, and a touchscreen infotainment system enhance its appeal. However, some users have noted issues with the clutch and service support, which need to be addressed. Overall, its a reliable and practical choice, but potential buyers should be aware of these minor drawbacks.
Price
The Honda City Edge Edition in India is priced competitively, though it is on the higher side within its segment. The ex-showroom price for the Edge Edition can range from around 12.5 lakh to 14.5 lakh, depending on the specific trim and features. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can go up to 16 lakh to 18 lakh. While it is pricier than some of its competitors like the Hyundai Verna, the additional features and the premium feel it offers justify the cost. However, the top-spec variants are almost 1 lakh pricier than their closest rivals, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious buyers.
Latest Updates
Saturday, 02 November 2024 03:31 PM The 2025 Honda City facelift has been unveiled in Brazil, featuring a new grille with horizontal design elements and updated front and rear bumpers. The interior now includes a white and black theme and dual-zone automatic climate control. I think these cosmetic updates will give the City a fresh look in the Indian market.
Friday, 13 September 2024 04:30 AM Honda Malaysia has launched a Special Edition of the Honda City, based on the V trim, with added styling elements from the Modulo accessories package. This edition includes underbody spoilers, side skirts, and a trunk spoiler, all in a Platinum White Pearl color. I believe such special editions could boost sales in India as well.
Tuesday, 02 April 2024 05:01 PM A recent owner review of the 2024 Honda City MT highlighted its strong points, including the 1.5L free-revving motor, slick 6-speed manual transmission, and well-tuned steering. However, it also noted some drawbacks like lag in engine response at low RPMs and the lack of wheel well insulation. I think the City remains a solid choice for those who enjoy driving.
Friday, 15 March 2024 03:40 PM The India-spec Honda City continues to offer a hybrid powertrain option, combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine with twin electric motors, providing better efficiency in traffic. This is not available in the Brazilian model, making the Indian version more appealing for fuel-conscious buyers. I believe this hybrid option is a significant selling point.
Sunday, 10 March 2024 08:32 AM The 2024 Honda City comes with a 5-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP and features like level-2 ADAS, though there have been some concerns about the emergency auto-braking system. The car also lacks some advanced safety features like a 360-degree camera and TPMS. I think Honda should address these gaps to enhance safety.
Tuesday, 20 February 2024 05:45 PM The Honda City is praised for its spacious cabin, good ergonomics, and supporting seats. It also features smart touches like phone holders and strategically placed small lights. However, it lacks ventilated seats and a non-adjustable drivers armrest. I believe these small comforts can make a big difference in daily driving.
Saturday, 10 February 2024 12:54 AM The Honda City competes with other compact sedans like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Kushaq, and Maruti Ciaz. With the sedan market shrinking, these updates are crucial for Honda to maintain its market share. I think the Citys reliability and performance will help it stay competitive.
Thursday, 25 January 2024 12:33 AM The current Honda City in India is priced between Rs 11.82 lakh and Rs 16.35 lakh. The 2025 model is expected to be launched at a slightly higher price, given the new features and updates. I believe the price hike will be justified by the added features.
Monday, 15 January 2024 06:17 AM The 2025 Honda City facelift retains the same design elements as the current model but with a new grille and front and rear bumpers. The Indian model already has these bumpers, so the main change will be the new grille. I think this subtle update will keep the City looking fresh.
Friday, 05 January 2024 03:34 PM The updated Honda City includes features like an electronic parking brake, dual-zone climate control, and a wireless charging pad moved behind the gear lever. These updates should enhance the driving experience and convenience. I believe these features will be well-received by Indian buyers.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 06:31 PM The Honda City Edge Edition offers impressive mileage, especially when driven efficiently. With the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, users have reported mileage of up to 16 kmpl in city driving when using cruise control, and even better on highways. The CVT automatic variant also ensures good fuel economy, dispelling the common myth that automatic transmissions consume more fuel. This makes the Honda City a cost-effective choice for both daily commuting and long drives.

Honda city diesel version is worst car in this segment . Always create problems and too much noisy cabin . Car's finishing is not up to the standard. I have bought this car in Feb. 2015 .

Best Features: AC Control panel

Pros: Style is good but finishing is very bad

Cons: Noisy cabin, horns are cheap quality not working properly
