Our take on this /// Verdict
The Audi e-tron 50 is a compelling choice for those looking to transition to electric vehicles without compromising on luxury, comfort, and performance. My experience with the e-tron 50 has been nothing short of impressive. The vehicle offers a silky-smooth ride, thanks to its air suspension, and the silence of the electric motor makes it feel like a car from the future. The interior is plush and well-built, with ample space for passengers and a generous boot area. While it may not be as overtly sporty as some of its rivals, the e-tron 50 excels in its role as a luxury EV, providing a soothing and effortless driving experience. The technology package, including features like the virtual cockpit and 360-degree camera, adds to its allure. However, the absence of wireless Apple CarPlay and cooled seats at this price point is a minor drawback. Overall, the Audi e-tron 50 is a solid choice for those seeking a luxurious and practical electric vehicle.
Price
In India, the Audi e-tron 50 is priced competitively within the luxury electric vehicle segment. The ex-showroom price for the e-tron 50 starts at approximately Rs. 1.02 crore. When you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes and other charges, the price can go up to around Rs. 1.15 crore to Rs. 1.20 crore, depending on the state and local taxes. While this is certainly a significant investment, the e-tron 50 offers a unique blend of luxury, technology, and sustainability that justifies the cost. For those who value the prestige and comfort of a luxury brand and are willing to adopt electric mobility, the e-tron 50 is a worthwhile consideration.
Latest Updates
Friday, 08 March 2024 03:55 PM
Although there are no direct updates on the Audi e-tron 50 for recent years, the lessons learned and technologies developed from this model have been integrated into newer models like the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron, which have seen significant improvements in range, power, and charging efficiency. I believe this continuity in innovation is a testament to Audis commitment to electric vehicles.
Thursday, 30 June 2022 10:38 AM
By the end of June 2022, Audi stopped taking orders for the 2023 Audi e-tron to clear the factory backlog before starting production of the facelift version, which was later launched as the Audi Q8 e-tron in November 2022. This marked the end of the original e-tron series. I think this transition was necessary to incorporate newer technologies and improvements into their electric vehicle lineup.

In the 2021 model year, the Audi e-tron 50 received further upgrades, such as the replacement of LG Chem cells with Samsung SDI cells in the e-tron 55 battery, and the introduction of a new MMI system (MIB 3) which enhanced the infotainment experience. Additionally, USB-A ports were replaced with USB-C ports. I believe these technological advancements enhanced the user experience significantly.

For the 2020 model year, the Audi e-tron 50 saw several updates, including the reduction of the top buffer, which increased the available battery capacity from 83.6 kWh to 86.5 kWh. Other improvements included efficiency enhancements and the introduction of the Sportback variant. I think these updates were crucial in keeping the e-tron competitive in the evolving electric vehicle market.
Thursday, 01 August 2019 11:36 AM
The Audi e-tron 50 quattro, introduced in the fourth quarter of 2019, features two electric motors producing 230 kW and 540 Nm of torque. It has a range of over 300 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle and can charge to 80% in about 30 minutes at a high-power charging station. The vehicle also includes advanced recuperation systems and an efficient all-wheel drive system. I believe this model set a strong benchmark for electric SUVs in terms of performance and efficiency.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 10:20 AM
The mileage of the Audi e-tron 50 in real-world conditions is quite impressive. With a 71 kWh battery pack, the vehicle is claimed to have a range of 359 km in the WLTP cycle. In practical terms, I have found that the real-world range varies between 330 to 370 km, depending on driving conditions and modes. The efficiency is particularly notable in urban driving, where the e-tron can achieve up to 4.0 kmkWh, making it economical even in congested city traffic. The range extender mode also helps in conserving energy when needed, ensuring you can reach a charging point without range anxiety. Overall, the e-tron 50 offers a reliable and efficient electric driving experience.
