Our take on this /// Verdict
The Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is a promising addition to the Indian motorcycle market, especially for those seeking a fully-faired sports bike without breaking the bank. While it may not boast the most refined engine or top-shelf componentry, it offers a compelling package of performance, style, and value. The bikes 373.3cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine produces 40 HP and 35 Nm of torque, making it quite capable on both city streets and highways. The inclusion of a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch enhances its usability, especially during aggressive downshifting. However, the bikes ground clearance and front brake could be improved for more confident handling, particularly at higher speeds. Overall, its a fun, agile, and feature-rich motorcycle that is hard to ignore given its competitive pricing.
Price
The 2024 Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is expected to be priced around Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the price can escalate to approximately Rs 2.70 lakh to Rs 3.00 lakh, depending on the state and local regulations. This pricing makes the Pulsar SS400 an attractive option in the 400cc segment, offering a fully-faired sports bike experience at a price point that is competitive with many 250cc and 350cc bikes in the market. Given the features and performance it offers, the Pulsar SS400 presents excellent value for money.
