Toyota is a Japanese multinational automaker with its headquarters in Toyota, Aichi, Japan. The company was formed by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937. Toyota Innova is a compact MPV (multipurpose vehicle) that has dimensions of 4585 mm(length), 1760 mm(width), 1760 mm(height) with minimum ground clearance of 176 mm. It is available in Indian market in eight variants that supports diesel and petrol as fuel. The fuel tank capacity of Innova is 55 litres with kerb weight of 1680 kg (VX diesel) and gross weight of 2300 kg. The turning radius of car is 5.4 meters that is lowest in its category. The body of Innova is GOA (Global Outstanding Assessment) that advances in collision safety. Innova's super aerodynamics gives the car better performance and mileage.

The diesel engine 2KD-FTV is a second generation engine of KD series by Toyota with 2.5 litres (2494cc) of displacement. It has sixteen valves and is a DOHC engine with inter-cool and turbocharger. It produces maximum power of 101 bhp at 3600 rpm with torque generated is 200 Nm between 1400-3400 rpm. The engine uses (CRDi) common rail direct injection fuel system that allows the average mileage of 17 kmpl on highways and 13 kmpl in the city. Innova has 5-speed manual transmission and the suspension used in diesel powered Innova is independent coil spring with stabilizer. All variants of Innova follow rear wheel drive train. The Innova petrol has 1998 cc VVT-i (variable valve timing with intelligence) engine that produces 130 bhp of horsepower at 5600 rpm and the maximum torque that it generates is 181 Nm at 4000 rpm.

It uses electronic fuel injection system (EFI) to supply the fuel to the engine. Engine immobilizer and two air bags are installed in the vehicle for safety purpose. The air conditioner of Innova comes with automatic climate control settings. The windows are electrically controlled through a button and the driver window features one-touch control to roll-up or roll-down the window. For rear passengers the AC has vents near the back seats. Fog lamp and parking sensors comes handy from time to time. The tilt steering of Innova is electrically powered and allows adjustments for comfortable driving position. Front tyres of the car uses ventilated disk brakes while leading-trail drum brakes are used in rear tyres. Rear wiper and rear defogger keeps the back windshield clean from fog and rain.

The outside rear view mirror is controlled electrically from inside the vehicle and they also support the side turn indicators. The multimedia system installed in Innova is 2DIN with LCD display that can play via DVD, USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth which also supports the touch screen features. Back monitor camera can help in reversing the vehicle. Innova is offered in white, super white, silver mica metallic, silky gold mica metallic, dark red mica metallic, blue metallic and grey mica metallic.
