Hyundai Verna is a perfect combination of sporty exterior and beautiful interior giving a strong imprint of style, luxury and power. Verna was first introduced in 2006 as a C+ Segment vehicle and from the very beginning, it gave a strong competition to its fellow segment vehicles and the new model is also bound to produce the same effect. The sedan has a stylish central console with an integrated audio system, an MP3/FM player, 6 SRS Air-bags (2 curtain air bags, 2 side air bags and two for the driver and front passenger), ABS plus EBD, front and rear seat belts and adjustable steering wheel. The top variant also provides a standard Push-button start with key-less entry. It is a very comfortable 5-seater sedan.
It also features height adjustable driver seat, power steering, power window and automatic climate control systems. It has a dual tone dashboard with audio and Bluetooth control buttons on the steering wheel. The audio system is 2DIN dash integrated one with USB, auxiliary ports and speed sensing auto volume function and comes with 4 speakers plus 2 tweeters for adding quality to the sound. Hyundai Verna has four new engines - 2 petrol and 2 diesel equipped with five speed manual gearbox. The 1.4L petrol engine provides maximum power of 106 bhp and maximum torque of 138 Nm. The 1.6L petrol engine gives maximum power of 122 bhp and maximum torque of 158 Nm and has two transmission modes - automatic and manual.
The 1.4L diesel engine has the capacity of providing maximum power of 90 bhp and maximum torque of 224 Nm. The 1.6L diesel one provides maximum power of 126 bhp and maximum torque of 265 Nm. In top variants, the sedan is capable of providing a speed of 0-60kmph in 4.86 seconds for 1.6L petrol engine and in 4.71 seconds for 1.6L diesel engine. The vehicle is also equipped with an ECO mode indicator to provide best mileage when drove under ideal figures of RPM and speed. It provides a decent mileage of 15-17kmpl varying with respect to each variant and has a fuel tank capacity of about 43 litres. Hyundai Verna also has front and rear seat belts, fog lamps, disk or drum brakes according to the variant, door unlocking feature in the case of an impact, door locking feature when reaching at a certain speed, clutch locking system and camera for reversing.
The Hyundai Verna also features a MacPherson Strut Front and Torsion Beam Axle rear suspension. In 1.4L petrol and diesel variants, there are front disks and rear drum brakes. In 1.6L petrol and diesel variants, there are disk brakes in both the front and rear wheels. It is also specially designed for Indian roads and overly crowded Indian cities with a turn radius of 5.2m. It is available in ten variants -1.4 petrol, 1.6 petrol, 1.6 petrol SX, 1.6 petrol SX Option, 1.6 petrol SX Option Automatic, 1.4 diesel, 1.6 diesel, 1.6 diesel SX, 1.6 diesel SX Option and 1.6 diesel SX Option Automatic. It has six attractive shades- Crystal White, Carbon Grey, Stone Beige, Purple Fantasia, Sleek Silver and Phantom Black. With every perfect feature, The Hyundai Verna seems to have a great future in India and supposedly emerge as the new leader of C+ segment sedans because of its excellent safety features, modern technology, high performance, superb mileage and sleek exceptional looks.
