Europe's largest two wheeler manufacturer KTM has brought the 100% stake of Husqvarna an off-road motorcycle division of BMW Motorrad. In a press release BMW has confirmed that they have sold the 100-year old Husqvarna Motorcycles to Stefan owned Pierer Industries AG (Austria) for an undisclosed sum. Pierer along with Bajaj Auto is the majority stake holders in KTM. With this acquisition Pierer will have a free reign with its operations. It will be interesting to see if Husqvarna will team up with KTM’s own brand Husaberg or Pierer will step down from the board and run Husqvarna separately.
