Mahindra XUV300 Stops Bookings, Prepares for Facelift Launch

The Mahindra XUV300 is poised for an update, with its facelifted version set to debut soon, as Mahindra has ceased taking bookings for the subcompact SUV. Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director and CEO (Auto & Farm sector) at Mahindra & Mahindra revealed this information during an investor meeting, indicating that bookings will resume with the facelift.

Jejurikar said that while certain shops are still taking orders for the existing supply, Mahindra has stopped taking new reservations for the XUV300. However, Mahindra plans to significantly reduce production for the XUV300 over the next couple of months as it fulfills pending orders. This production slowdown will eventually cease as Mahindra nears completion of the facelifted XUV300, expected to launch in the coming months.

Engine Options for the 2024 XUV300

Mahindra will retain the current engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (110 PS/200 Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel engine (117 PS/300 Nm), and a 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine (130 PS/250 Nm). Both a 6-speed AMT and a 6-speed manual transmission are anticipated to be used with these engines.

Expected Pricing and Competition

With prices expected to start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom), the facelifted XUV300 will continue to compete in the fiercely contested subcompact SUV segment. Rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Brezza will provide stiff competition but Mahindra is confident that the XUV300's blend of style, performance, and features will set it apart in the marketplace.
