In the competitive sub-4-meter compact UV segment, maintaining a leading position is a challenge. The Mahindra XUV300, while a consistent performer, has faced stiff competition from bestsellers like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. However, the upcoming XUV300 facelift might change the game.

XUV300 Facelift: A Sportier Look

Recent spy shots captured in the North by car enthusiast Nick Aloria show a refreshed design for the 2024 XUV300 facelift. While all the updates are not yet clear, the new front and rear lighting designs are a strong indicator of changes.

One spotted test mule featured C-clamp-shaped LED lights, reminiscent of Mahindra's forthcoming BE range of electric SUVs. We might also see updates to the headlamps, front grille, bumpers, and tail lamps, aligning with Mahindra's future design language.

The side profile should remain mostly unchanged, but higher-end models might sport new alloy wheels. The facelifted XUV300 is also expected to offer new color options, adding to the current model's seven single-tone and three dual-tone choices.

New Premium Features Expected

The XUV300 is already well-appointed, but the facelift could bring a suite of premium features. The current single-pane sunroof might be replaced with a panoramic option. Possible extras include a digital instrument console, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, a 360-degree surround view camera, and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

We could also see new safety features. The current model boasts over 25 safety features including six airbags, hill hold assist, corner braking control, electronic stability program (ESP), and all-4 disc brakes. The XUV300 is one of India's safest cars with a 5-star Adult Safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests. The facelift might introduce some ADAS features as well.

Powertrain Options

The engine options for the XUV300 facelift are expected to remain the same. The SUV is known for its robust performance, with best-in-segment torque figures across all three engine options:

  • 1.2-litre turbo petrol (TCMPFi) unit: 110 PS and 200 Nm
  • 1.2-litre turbo petrol (TGDi): 130 PS and 230 Nm (250 Nm with transient overboost function)
  • 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine: 117 PS and 300 Nm

All engines come with options of a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AutoSHIFT transmission.

With these updates and new features, the 2024 Mahindra XUV300 facelift is expected to be priced higher than the current model, which ranges from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 14.75 lakh
