Kia Clavis SUV Spied With Advanced Features

Since its launch with the Seltos, Kia has had a major influence on the Indian auto industry. Expanding its portfolio the company now offers the Sonet, Carens, Carnival, and EV6 establishing itself as a leading mainstream manufacturer. The next vehicle set to join Kia's lineup in India is a compact SUV codenamed AY, rumored to be launched as the Kia Clavis.

Kia Clavis: A Glimpse into the Future

It is expected that the release of the Kia Clavis will have a significant effect on the Indian market. The name "Clavis" was trademarked by Kia in India in December 2023, and the vehicle has recently been spotted in Hyderabad, providing the clearest images of the India-spec Clavis to date.

Design and Features

There are a number of fresh spy video details regarding the characteristics and design of the Clavis. Reminiscent of the future XUV 3XO, the SUV has an intimidating front fascia with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) arranged vertically. It is equipped with automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a vertically arranged lighting setup. A triple LED projector setup is expected, with two for the low beam and one for the high beam.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) characteristics that are comparable to those found in other Kia vehicles are confirmed by the radar module's presence. Front parking sensors are also visible. The Clavis's design elements include a muscular clamshell bonnet, thick B-pillars, roof rails for a taller appearance, and geometrically designed wheels, in line with Kia's international models.

Rear Design and Interior

The rear of the Clavis features vertically laid-out LED tail lights and an almost flat tailgate, with vertically mounted reflectors on the rear bumper. The interior glimpses show a steering wheel similar to that of the EV6, along with twin horizontally laid-out screens as seen in the new Sonet and Seltos.

Positioning and Rivals

The Kia Clavis, with its sub-4m length and boxy proportions, is expected to offer a spacious interior. Depending on its size, the Clavis may share powertrains with the Hyundai Exter or the Kia Seltos. It will compete with cars like the Hyundai Exter and the Tata Punch when it launches. An electric version of the Clavis is also in consideration.

As Kia prepares to introduce the Clavis in India, it is set to expand its presence in the compact SUV segment offering a blend of style, technology, and practicality.
