Hero Xoom 160 Trademarked in India – Debut Today

Introduction

Hero MotoCorp is all set to make a significant mark in the Indian two-wheeler market with the launch of their new scooter, the Hero Xoom 160. This scooter represents a departure from their conventional lineup, as it's part of Hero's premium product range. Scheduled to be unveiled tomorrow, the Hero Xoom 160 signifies a substantial commitment to offering high-end two-wheeler products. It will be exclusively available through Hero's designated "Premia dealerships."

The 2023 EICMA Show

Hero's focus on premium products is evident through its recent product launches. Earlier this year, they introduced the Karizma XMR and the Xpulse 200 4V Pro. At the 2023 EICMA Show, Hero is set to introduce two new products – a premium scooter and the ADV-style Hero Xoom 160 maxi scooter. Additionally, another scooter, the Xude, will be unveiled alongside the Xoom 160.

Hero Xoom 160 Scooter Teaser

Hero recently provided a sneak peek of the ADV-styled maxi scooter after some of its patent designs were leaked. Intriguingly, Hero revised its teaser, revealing more details about this upcoming scooter. Notably, the scooter features the name "XOOM" and "160" badges, which suggests this will be Hero's first non-step-through scooter. The trademark for the name was filed just a week ago, indicating that the launch may not be imminent.

Hero Xoom 160 Features

The Hero Xoom 160 comes with a range of exciting features, as seen in the teaser. The "160" in its name likely refers to the scooter's engine displacement, specifically a 160cc engine similar to the one used in the Xtreme 160R. Notably, Hero has equipped this engine with active cooling, including a radiator setup. The radiator's design differs from that of the Xtreme 160R, likely due to the unique packaging required for the Xoom 160.

Off-Road Capabilities

The Hero Xoom 160 is designed to handle off-road and adventure riding. It boasts larger 14-inch wheels (though not yet confirmed), paired with block-pattern dual-sport tires for better grip. The delivery of the first LNG-powered haulage truck in the country by Ashok Leyland is a significant milestone for the trucking industry. Compared to standard diesel vehicles, this new truck emits less pollutants, which is better for the environment.

Advanced Features

In terms of additional features, the Hero Xoom 160 incorporates a modern TFT screen for instrumentation, twin-pod LED headlights, comfortable rider ergonomics, a spacious and accommodating seat, a luggage rack with an optional top box, keyless start, and a commanding road presence. All these features are designed to enhance the scooter's appeal.

Champion of Off-Beat Rides

Hero describes the Xoom 160 as the "Champion of off-beat rides." Given Hero's extensive experience in off-roading, rallying, and trail riding, it's likely that they've fine-tuned the Xoom 160's suspension for optimal performance in challenging conditions.

Competitive Pricing

While Hero has only provided a teaser of the Xoom 160, it seems to boast impressive build quality and design. The scooter's styling and performance could potentially position it as a competitor to popular scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Honda's ADV 160 in global markets. In India, where the Yamaha Aerox 155 is relatively expensive at around Rs. 1.47 lakh, the Hero Xoom 160 is expected to offer a more affordable option at around Rs. 1.25 lakh.

Conclusion

The Hero Xoom 160 is poised to be an exciting addition to Hero's product lineup, offering a premium and adventurous alternative for riders looking to explore off-beat paths and enjoy a comfortable and stylish ride. Keep an eye out for its official unveiling and release.
