Hero MotoCorp Could Become Harley-Davidson Bikes Distributor in India

Hero MotoCorp Could Become Harley-Davidson Bikes Distributor: Back in February this year, we reported that Hero MotoCorp, one of the largest two-wheeler manufacturers in the Indian market, is ready to enter into a partnership alliance with Harley-Davidson, the American two-wheeler giant. As per one of the latest reports by NDTV, it seems like it is going to happen very soon. Harley-Davidson recently announced its exit from the Indian markets as part of a global restructuring process. According to the latest details available, Harley-Davidson is expected to enter a distribution agreement with Hero MotoCorp to sell its motorcycles in India, as the American brand has shut its manufacturing plant located in Bawal, Haryana, and it is also expected to shut down its sales outlets across the country in the coming weeks. According to the latest media report, two sources who are familiar with the talks said - "Hero will be the master distributor for Harley bikes in India." In 2019, the American motorcycle manufacturer also entered into a joint partnership with the Qianjiang Motorcycle that will churn out small-displacement Harleys for the Indian as well as other Asian markets. The majority of the premium brands are getting into partnerships with other motorcycle manufacturers and creating several successful products. For instance, the TVS-BMW partnership has resulted in the launch of TVS Apache RR 310 while BMW currently features the G310R and G310GS under its wing. Recently, Bajaj and Triumph also announced an official partnership to launch all-new entry-level products by 2022. Following the same trend, Harley-Davidson is looking for an automobile manufacturer with a huge distribution network of motorcycles to bounce back in the Indian two-wheeler market.
