Get Ready for the Sub-Rs 20 Lakh SUVs Rolling In 2024

The automotive industry in India is gearing up for an exciting lineup of sub-Rs 20 lakh SUVs in 2024. Here's a closer look at what's in store:

Toyota Taisor

The Toyota Taisor, based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, is expected to be launched in March 2024 with an anticipated price of Rs 8 lakh. While it inherits design elements from the Fronx, subtle changes and Toyota badging are expected.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

Hyundai plans to launch the facelifted version of the popular Creta in January 2024. With advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and a 360-degree camera, along with updated styling, the Creta facelift will feature the 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Kia Seltos.

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

The Alcazar, a 3-row derivative of the Creta, is expected to receive similar feature updates as the new Creta facelift, including ADAS. Mechanical aspects will likely remain unchanged, and it is anticipated to be priced around Rs 17 lakh.

Tata Punch Facelift / EV

Tata Punch, already on sale since 2021, might see a facelift and the introduction of an all-electric version in 2024. The micro SUV, priced at around Rs 12 lakh for the EV variant, could receive interior updates and new features.

Tata Curvv

The Tata Curvv, showcased as a concept, is expected to be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions. With coupe-like styling, features may include ADAS tech and digital displays, targeting a price of Rs 10.50 lakh.

Tata Nexon Dark

The Nexon Dark Edition, likely to be introduced in 2024, will feature an all-black treatment, including alloys and grille. Priced around Rs 11.30 lakh, it won't see changes in engine options.

Mahindra Thar 5-door

The Mahindra Thar 5-door, a highly anticipated model, is expected to launch in March 2024. It may feature both petrol and diesel engine options, a larger infotainment display, and possibly a sunroof, with an estimated price of Rs 15 lakh.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift

The Mahindra XUV300, due for a refresh, is expected to undergo changes in front and rear design, cabin design, and potentially incorporate ADAS tech. No significant changes are expected in the powertrain, and it may be priced around Rs 9 lakh.

Mahindra XUV400 Facelift

The new Mahindra XUV400, spotted on tests, is likely to be launched in the second half of 2024. While design changes and features are expected, the electric powertrain may not undergo major changes. Anticipated price is Rs 16 lakh.

Kia Sonet Facelift

Kia is set to launch the Sonet facelift in January 2024. Teasers suggest new exteriors and features, including ADAS. Engine and transmission options are expected to continue with minor revisions, and it may be priced around Rs 8 lakh.

Skoda Kushaq 2024

The Skoda Kushaq, launched in 2021, may see an updated version in 2024. Possible changes include subtle styling updates and feature revisions, possibly incorporating ADAS. It will continue with 1-litre or 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines.

Volkswagen Taigun 2024

Like its Skoda counterpart, the Taigun is expected to receive an update in 2024. Inclusion of ADAS features is a possibility, along with exterior design updates. The powertrain is likely to remain the same, with an estimated price yet to be confirmed.

New Renault Duster

The third-gen Renault Duster, expected to be the flagship offering for India in 2024, may feature a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. Priced at around Rs 10 lakh, it could launch in the second half of 2024.

Nissan Magnite Facelift

The Nissan Magnite, on sale since December 2020, is due for a midlife refresh. Expected updates include exterior design tweaks and new features. No changes are likely under the hood, with an estimated price of Rs 6.50 lakh.
