Exciting News: Gogoro's First Electric Scooter Coming to India

Introduction

Hey there, fellow bike enthusiasts! We've got some thrilling news for all you scooter lovers – Gogoro is all set to launch its very first electric scooter in India, and it's called the Gogoro CrossOver. After revealing its plans back in October, the company has already started the production of these innovative scooters at its high-tech plant located in Aurangabad, India.

When's the Big Launch?

Get ready for the grand launch happening in December, and the scooters are expected to hit the streets for sale in early 2024. But here's the cool part: initially, a significant portion of the production is dedicated to meeting the demands of delivery partners like Zomato and Swiggy.

What's Special About the CrossOver?

This scooter is not your average ride – it's designed to be a versatile machine, a bit like a superhero among scooters. Featuring a robust steel frame, it stands out as the longest among Gogoro's scooter lineups. And here's the kicker – it's not just about style; the CrossOver is designed to carry cargo, not only at the back but also on the floorboard and at the front!

Cargo-friendly Features

When it comes to carrying your stuff, CrossOver has got you covered. You can easily add luggage racks, panniers, and top cases to accommodate extra cargo. Plus, the pillion seat (that's the back seat) can be folded down to become a comfortable backrest for the rider or completely removed for those times when you need to transport larger items.

Tech Specs

Let's dive into the technical details – the CrossOver boasts a sophisticated suspension setup with telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Riding on sturdy 12-inch wheels, it comes equipped with reliable disc brakes – 220 mm in the front and 180 mm in the rear. Weighing in at 126 kg, batteries included, it maintains a ground clearance of 142 mm.

Battery Magic

Here's where the CrossOver truly stands out – it features two battery packs, each weighing around 10 kg. And the magic happens when it comes to swapping – a lightning-fast 6-second battery swap! This is a game-changer for delivery folks who want to keep on rolling without enduring long breaks. To make things even better, Gogoro is in talks to partner with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to establish battery-swapping stations.

Power to the Scooter

While we're eagerly awaiting the power details for the Indian version, internationally, the CrossOver is powered by a motor generating 7 kW of power and 26.6 Nm of torque.

For Business and Fun

For those focusing on business use, the scooter might feature a slightly less powerful motor. However, it still maintains a zippy top speed of around 60-65 kmph and an impressive range of close to 100 km on a full charge.

What About the Price?

Gogoro is making smart moves by utilizing locally sourced components, which could translate to a more affordable price tag. They're even considering offering recharged batteries as a service to further reduce ownership costs.

So, gear up for a new era of scootering in India with the much-anticipated launch of the Gogoro CrossOver – all set to hit the streets this December!
