Bajaj Auto has kick-started 2024 with remarkable sales figures showcasing a significant increase in both domestic and export markets. In January 2024, the company sold a total of 286,106 units, marking a substantial rise from the 231,028 units sold in January 2023. The Pulsar range continued to dominate the domestic market, while the Boxer model led the charge in export markets.

Domestic Sales Performance

In January 2024, Bajaj Auto's domestic sales reached 184,216 units, demonstrating a robust year-on-year growth of 33.36% compared to 138,139 units in January 2023 and this growth translates to an impressive volume increase of 46,077 units. Additionally, there was a noteworthy month-on-month growth compared to the 151,085 units sold in December 2023.

The Pulsar range stood out as the top seller, with 128,883 units sold last month, up 52.92% over the 84,279 units sold in January 2023. The Pulsar range commands nearly 70% of the domestic market share, with the 125cc variant receiving the most attention. Sales of the Pulsar 125cc grew to 71,990 units last month, up 45.36% from 49,527 units sold in January 2023.

Other Pulsar models also showed positive growth, with 30,565 units of the Pulsar 150cc sold, up 81.11% year-on-year, and 20,841 units of the Pulsar 200cc sold. The Pulsar 250cc also contributed with 5,487 units sold in January 2024.

However, Platina sales dipped by 21.16% year-on-year to 33,013 units in January 2024, while the Chetak electric scooter emerged as the third top-selling model with 14,144 units sold, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 303.19%. The Bajaj CT and Avenger models also made it to the domestic sales list, with varying degrees of growth and decline.

Export Performance

Bajaj Auto's export figures for January 2024 totaled 101,890 units, reflecting a respectable year-on-year growth of 9.96% compared to 92,889 units shipped in January 2023. The Bajaj Boxer emerged as the most popular model in international markets, accounting for 52.89% of the export list with 53,888 units shipped in January 2024.

Pulsar exports experienced robust year-on-year growth of 54.04% to 23,475 units in January 2024, with the Pulsar 200cc leading the demand. Positive export increase was also observed for other Pulsar variations.

While Bajaj CT exports declined slightly, the Dominar and Platina models reported triple-digit growth rates. However, Discover sales dipped by 8.88% year-on-year, while there was notable growth for the Bajaj Avenger, with 492 units exported last month compared to 288 units in January 2023.

With the Pulsar and Boxer models leading the way in sales, Bajaj Auto's performance in January 2024 shows the brand's sustained dominance in both home and overseas markets.
