2025 Nissan Magnite Facelift Spotted With New Features

The Nissan Magnite, known for being one of the most affordable sub-4-meter SUVs in India, is set to receive a series of updates. Expected to launch later this year, the facelifted Magnite has been spotted during tests revealing new details about the SUV.

Exterior Updates

Automotive enthusiast Pallavi Nitheesh has provided the latest spy shots, showcasing some expected visual enhancements. The front fascia may feature new lighting elements and an improved grille design. Both front and rear bumpers could see some tweaks, while the taillights might receive new detailing but retain their original design. The sheet metal is likely to remain unchanged, but recent test mules have been spotted with a new design for the alloy wheels, possibly 16-inch units with 195-section tyres.

Interior Enhancements

Despite its affordable price, the Nissan Magnite offers a comprehensive feature set. With average sales of around 2,500 to 3,000 units per month, the facelift aims to bridge the gap with top-selling subcompact SUVs by introducing premium features. Upgrades planned include a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, and a single-pane sunroof. The current features such as wireless charging, rear AC vents, and compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, will be enhanced by these enhancements.

Safety Improvements

The Magnite is well known for having many safety measures. The facelift model will further enhance safety by including six airbags as standard across all variants. The SUV's high Global NCAP safety ratings are a testament to its safety, with the 2-airbag model tested in 2022 receiving a 4-star Adult Safety crash test rating. The facelift model is likely to keep this grade by adding new safety technologies such as vehicle dynamic control, hill start aid, traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Performance

The Nissan Magnite facelift will continue with the existing engine options. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 72 PS and 96 Nm, with transmission choices including a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (EZ-Shift). The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivers 100 PS, with torque outputs of 160 Nm for the manual and 152 Nm for the CVT gearbox.

Market Positioning

The updates introduced with the Magnite facelift will eventually be available with the Renault Kiger, which is also expected to launch later this year. Rivals including the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and the soon-to-be Mahindra XUV 3X0 will still be faced by the Magnite and Kiger
