Nissan Magnite Facelift Spotted During Testing

The Nissan Magnite, introduced in late 2020, is set to receive its first significant update in the form of a facelift. Recent spy shots of a camouflaged test suggest that Nissan is ready to refresh its popular SUV, likely aiming for a launch in the second half of 2024. As the SUV approaches its fourth year in India, the facelift is expected to bring several design and feature updates to keep the Magnite competitive in the sub-4m SUV segment.

Spy Shots and Design Updates

Despite heavy camouflage, the spy shots reveal that the overall silhouette of the Magnite remains unchanged. However, important changes include refreshed alloy wheel designs suggesting a new look for the SUV's exterior. Additionally, we can anticipate revisions to the front and rear bumpers, updated lighting elements, and other subtle tweaks to enhance the SUV's visual appeal and modernize its design language.

Expected Interior Upgrades

While details about the interior updates are limited, it is likely that the facelifted Magnite will receive new seat upholstery and additional features to enhance comfort and convenience. There are reports that the interior may include amenities like a sunroof, an automatic luminous rearview mirror, and air-conditioned front seats. The current amenities which include an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver display, and optional wireless phone charging would be enhanced by these enhancements.

Powertrain and Performance

The facelifted Nissan Magnite is expected to retain its current engine options. This includes the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1-litre turbo-petrol unit, both of which offer a blend of performance and efficiency. The naturally aspirated engine comes with a choice of 5-speed MT or AMT, while the turbo-petrol variant offers a 5-speed MT or CVT. These powertrain options have been well-received and are likely to continue in the updated model.

Launch and Pricing

The facelifted Nissan Magnite is anticipated to be launched in the final quarter of 2024, possibly at a slightly higher price point than the current model. The current Magnite is competitively priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 11.27 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Despite the expected price increase, the updated Magnite will continue to rival popular offerings in the segment including the Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, and others.

With the upcoming facelift, Nissan aims to keep the Magnite competitive in the fiercely contested sub-4m SUV segment. The redesigned Magnite aims to appeal to a broad spectrum of consumers searching for a fashionable, useful, and reasonably priced SUV alternative by modernizing its features, keeping its outstanding performance capabilities, and updating its looks. It is expected that the improvements will improve the Magnite's appeal and position it as a competitive option in its market.
