Is the 7 seater WagonR safe with the full load of passengers?
30 December 2024 10:16
It's all relative. How safe is it compared to a Volvo XC90? Of course not. It's a big step up, however, compared to people who cram into auto rickshaws or onto motorcycles. It is about safety within a budget.
Is the 7 seater WagonR safe with the full load of passengers?
30 December 2024 10:16
I’ve done some research on the safety features and they seem ok on paper. I'm skeptical how they would perform in a real crash with full load. Honestly, I’d feel safer in a larger vehicle.
Is the 7 seater WagonR safe with the full load of passengers?
30 December 2024 10:16
Come on, safety in India isn’t just about car, it’s also about defensive driving. If kept well and driven carefully, the 7 seater WagonR can be good as family use car.
Will the 7-seater WagonR eat into sales of other Maruti models such as the Ertiga?
30 December 2024 10:16
It won't hurt Ertiga sales much I think. An Ertiga is bought by people who want that extra space and comfort. The 7 seater WagonR is for a different crowd, those that occasionally need extra seats but don’t want a big car.
Will the 7-seater WagonR eat into sales of other Maruti models such as the Ertiga?
30 December 2024 10:16
Ertiga sales are definitely going to eat into this. Why spend more on an Ertiga when you can get 7 seats in a cheaper and more fuel efficient package? Maruti are shooting themselves in the foot here.
Will the 7-seater WagonR eat into sales of other Maruti models such as the Ertiga?
30 December 2024 10:16
I think Maruti are covering all their bases. Sure, some people might pick the WagonR over the Ertiga, but they are still buying a Maruti. It’s about retaining customers within the brand, regardless.
Will the 7-seater WagonR eat into sales of other Maruti models such as the Ertiga?
30 December 2024 10:16
I’m an Ertiga owner and I’d say there’s no comparison. The WagonR 7 seater might be good for some, but for regular use with seven people you need the space of a proper MPV. I believe there will be little overlap and they will coexist.
Will the 7-seater WagonR eat into sales of other Maruti models such as the Ertiga?
30 December 2024 10:16
It's a smart move by Maruti. What they are creating, effectively, is a new segment between hatchbacks and compact MPVs. It will take some sales from other brands' smaller cars, but will probably skim some Ertiga sales.
Is the 7 seater WagonR a gimmick or does it actually suit families?
30 December 2024 10:16
It's certainly more than a gimmick. I’ve used one for my family of five plus grandparents and it works great for short trips around the city. It's not ideal for long journeys but for running errands, or going to see a movie, it's perfect. It's a lot cheaper than getting a bigger car and the kids love sitting in the back.
Is the 7 seater WagonR a gimmick or does it actually suit families?
30 December 2024 10:16
No, it’s just Maruti trying to sell more WagonR’s with that name. You’ve seen how cramped that third row is, right? Even for small kids it’s barely suitable, not to mention adults. If you can live with the 5 seater version, you’ll get the extra boot space when you need it.
Is the 7 seater WagonR a gimmick or does it actually suit families?
30 December 2024 10:16
To me, it depends on what you need. If you’re like me, who sometimes needs to move about a bigger group but doesn’t wish to commit to a fullsize MPV, it’s a godsend. It’s not perfect, but it’s a cool way to use space in a familiar package.
Is the 7 seater WagonR a gimmick or does it actually suit families?
30 December 2024 10:16
I’m a tall guy so the idea is laughable. I can’t even fit into the third row of a WagonR, let alone squeeze into a third row. It may be appropriate for families with little kids, but anyone else should find something else.
Is the 7 seater WagonR a gimmick or does it actually suit families?
30 December 2024 10:16
It's actually quite practical, I think. This isn’t meant to replace your Innova. For those times when you need to bring that extra person or two along. And you can always fold down the third row when you don’t need it. It's all about flexibility.
Finally, How does the 7 seater WagonR compare in handling to its 5 seater sibling?
30 December 2024 10:16
I've driven both and there isn't that much difference in day to day driving. It feels a bit heavier than the 7 seater, but it's not like you're now driving a boat. The suspension tuning has been done decently by Maruti.
Finally, How does the 7 seater WagonR compare in handling to its 5 seater sibling?
30 December 2024 10:16
Are you kidding? The handling is way worse! Driving is like driving a top–heavy brick. I once turned around fully loaded, and I thought we were going to tip over. If you value your life, stick to the 5 seater.
Finally, How does the 7 seater WagonR compare in handling to its 5 seater sibling?
30 December 2024 10:16
It's a trade-off. But yes, there is more body roll, but it's not unmanageable. All you have to do is change your driving style a bit. I found that it’s actually more stable on highways because of the extra weight.
Finally, How does the 7 seater WagonR compare in handling to its 5 seater sibling?
30 December 2024 10:16
Being familiar with both, I can tell you there is a difference, but it’s not a deal breaker. On straight roads the 7-seater feels more planted, but less nimble in the city. Priority is everything.
Finally, How does the 7 seater WagonR compare in handling to its 5 seater sibling?
30 December 2024 10:16
Let’s be real, if you’re looking for a WagonR for its handling prowess, you’re barking up the wrong tree. They're both runabouts and neither are sports cars. What it is, the 7 seater is fine.
The WagonR's relatively high seating position: Is a safety feature or is it a rollover risk?
30 December 2024 09:45
In my WagonR I feel much safer. With the high seating I have a great view of the road, and I can see potential hazards easily. It's like driving a mini-SUV!
The WagonR's relatively high seating position: Is a safety feature or is it a rollover risk?
30 December 2024 09:45
That's definitely a rollover risk. In sharp turns I have felt my WagonR lean uncomfortably. I don’t think the stability control is sufficient to override the high center of gravity.
