It’s a smart move to include modern features. In order to continue to be relevant, RE needs to evolve while still not irking the core fanbase, which should attract the younger riders.

This worries me because it will lose that classic RE charm. The simplicity was part of the appeal. Don't have too many electronics or you'll ruin the experience.

RE could really use these features. On one hand, they can continue to keep making classic models for purists, but the Roadster must compete with modern bikes.

While the modern features are icing on the cake, as long as the bike still has that RE character, I am fine with it. It's the best of both worlds.

Performance is not the only thing. Build quality, service network, and resale value are things that matter too. In these areas, RE has an edge.

It's definitely its own bike. It features a completely different frame, suspension setup and ergonomics. Just because it has the same engine doesn’t mean it’s a naked Himalayan.

I disagree, it feels like RE is just trying to squeeze as much as its 450 platform. Essentially the same bike underneath, with the changes mostly cosmetic.

They feel very different to someone who has ridden both. The Roadster is much more nimble and much better suited for city riding. You’re comparing apples and oranges.

I think RE using same engine in different bikes is smart. That keeps costs down and provides additional options. The Roadster does have its own character.
