Is the Royal Enfield Classic 350 really a highway friendly bike?

Depends what you mean by "highway". It’s fine on 55-65 mph roads. However, on 70+ mph interstates full of trucks? It's pretty sketchy. You're always going at full throttle and even a headwind or incline really slows it down.

It’s actually quite capable on highways. It's stable, not fast, but upright seating is comfortable for long rides. And, the journey is taken at a slower pace so you can enjoy it more.

Now let’s be real, highways are not ideal. That's not what it's built for. Cruising backroads and city streets is perfect for it. If you need a highway bike, you should look elsewhere or try the 650 twins.

I've had mine for 15,000 miles in 2 years. It's been held up better than I expected to be honest. All was well, just routine maintenance. It’s solid mechanically, and the paint still looks great.

It's hit or miss. My friend’s Classic 350 has been nothing but trouble, from electrical to rust spots. Mine's been perfect meanwhile. I believe quality control is still a little bit inconsistent.

It is a big improvement from the new J-series engine. It’s way more reliable than the old UCE engine. But you have to remain on top of maintenance. These aren't set it and forget it bikes.

It’s okay build quality, not great. Over time, little things begin to rattle off and come loose. It’s not anything major, but it needs more attention than a Japanese bike would.

Mine has 30,000 miles on it and no problems. It’s all about proper maintenance and not thrashing it. If you treat it well, it will treat you well.

A blank canvas is what the Classic 350 is. RE and third party parts are plentiful. I have changed the seat, the handlebars and the exhaust and it feels like a completely different bike.

It is customizable, but be careful. Some mods can, in fact, void your warranty. If you’re worried about that, stick to official RE accessories.

It's way cheaper to customize compared to something like a Harley. It's not going to break your back, and you can really make it your own.

One word of warning: don't go crazy with performance mods. The Classic 350 is meant to be a laid back cruiser. It tends to end badly when you try to turn it into a speed demon.

Mine gets daily use in Mumbai traffic. It's actually pretty good. With upright seating, you have good traffic visibility and it's nimble enough to thread through gaps.

It's okay, but not great. It can be a bit much weight if you’re smaller, especially in stop and go traffic. It does heat up quite a bit when stuck in jams.

I think it’s perfect for city commuting. The torquey engine means you don’t have to shift gears constantly. It's plus comfortable enough for short rides.
