Surprisingly, it’s quite fuel efficient in the city. On heavy traffic, I get about 35-40 km/l. A lot better than my old scooter.

To be honest, it’s not the most practical commuter. It would be better to be something lighter and more agile. It makes the commute more enjoyable, though.

Parking can be a pain. However you will find it not so easy to maneuver in tight spots as smaller bikes. On the upside, though, people tend to give it more space because it looks cool.

I actually prefer it for commuting over my previous bike, the Honda CB. I arrive at work less stressed because I am in a relaxed riding position.

If they price it right, it could be a game changer in India. The Classic look is what people love and if they can do it with a 650 engine for under 10K, it will sell like hotcakes.

They have to be careful internationally. The Classic name doesn't mean as much outside India. To have a chance, they'll have to price it competitively against Japanese and European bikes.

They will use a premium pricing strategy, I believe. Position it as a step above the 350, but cheaper than the competition – Triumph. It's always worked for their other 650s, why change?

If they price it too close to the Interceptor or Continental GT, they could have a problem. It's established those bikes in the market. The Classic 650 must provide clear value proposition in order to justify its existence.

Different pricing strategies should be considered for different markets by RE. If they have to pick one, maybe they just position it as a premium option in India, but go for a more aggressive, value oriented approach in Western markets where they still have to build brand recognition.

This is definitely more than just a bigger 350. It's a completely different character to the 650 twin engine. It gives you that classic look with modern performance, best of both worlds if you ask me.

I worry that it might lose some of that Classic charm. One reason the 350 is so appealing is its simplicity. It could end up becoming just another modern bike that has retro styling, but has more power and tech.

I've ridden both and can say that the 650 feels like a natural evolution. The extra grunt keeps the relaxed riding position and styling but makes it way more versatile. Now highway rides are fun!

It’s mostly marketing, let’s be real. Classic is a name that sells so RE slaps it on a 650 and cashes in. I think it'll be fine, but it won't have the same cultural impact as the 350.

I do think it brings something new, which is a proper mid size retro bike that can actually keep up with modern traffic. The 350 is fantastic in the city, but the 650 should be able to do it all without breaking a sweat.

It’s pretty hefty, 243kg, no way around it. You’ll find it to be a pain to manoeuvre in tight spots, or if you need to push it around. Shorter or less experienced riders might find this to be a dealbreaker.

Weight isn't everything. It's not exactly featherweight, and people love it. The extra weight of the 650 will probably serve it well, and that extra heft might make it more stable on highways.

Here, I think RE missed an opportunity. With more modern materials, they could have made it lighter without sacrificing that solid feel, 243kg is simply too much for an accessible bike.

I’ve ridden heavy cruisers and 243kg doesn’t scare me. Weight distribution is all about it. If RE got that right, it could be a really confidence inspiring ride.

Come on, most Classic riders aren’t Speed Demons. Maybe the laid back riding style might actually suit the extra weight. On top of that, it will likely be more substantial and 'premium' than the 350.

For the die-hard RE fans who want that iconic look with more power, Classic 650 should appeal to them. For riders looking for a more modern, versatile bike, the Interceptor will still be the go to.
