But how does the Classic 350 fare in heavy traffic as a daily commuter?

Retro charm and weekend cruising are what the Classic 350 is often praised for. But how does it fare in the real world of daily commuting — in congested urban areas? Tight spaces might make the bike’s weight and dimensions influence the choice. Its air cooled engine also poses heat management question in stop and go traffic. What is it like for shorter rides in various traffic situations? How does fuel efficiency compare when riding in the city? What’s your experience been with those using the Classic 350 as their primary commuter? Can you tell me any challenges or advantages you’ve noticed when you compare your bike to other commuter oriented bikes? It does a great job handling parking in crowded areas, and is practical for running errands around town.

Mine gets daily use in Mumbai traffic. It's actually pretty good. With upright seating, you have good traffic visibility and it's nimble enough to thread through gaps.

It's okay, but not great. It can be a bit much weight if you’re smaller, especially in stop and go traffic. It does heat up quite a bit when stuck in jams.

I think it’s perfect for city commuting. The torquey engine means you don’t have to shift gears constantly. It's plus comfortable enough for short rides.

Surprisingly, it’s quite fuel efficient in the city. On heavy traffic, I get about 35-40 km/l. A lot better than my old scooter.

To be honest, it’s not the most practical commuter. It would be better to be something lighter and more agile. It makes the commute more enjoyable, though.

Parking can be a pain. However you will find it not so easy to maneuver in tight spots as smaller bikes. On the upside, though, people tend to give it more space because it looks cool.

I actually prefer it for commuting over my previous bike, the Honda CB. I arrive at work less stressed because I am in a relaxed riding position.
