How does the Bullet 350X fare for long distance touring when compared to other bikes in the same class?

It’s not the best for touring honestly. When fully loaded, you can tell that you lack power, especially in hilly areas. But the basic suspension is very uncomfortable on rough roads. Hardcore touring is more its domain, not leisurely rides.

The Bullet 350X is the ultimate touring machine for me. It’s all about the experience, the sound, the feel and the looks. It's not the fastest, or the most comfortable, but it has soul. That makes every journey special.
Is modifying a Bullet 350X for better performance a way of ruining its classic charm?
07 January 2025 11:40
The fun part is modding a Bullet! If you keep it tasteful it can improve performance without losing the classic vibe. Without changing the look too much, a good exhaust and air filter can wake up the engine.
Is modifying a Bullet 350X for better performance a way of ruining its classic charm?
07 January 2025 11:40
In my opinion, any mods ruin the charm of the Bullet. The whole point is so you can experience it as it was meant to be, pure and simple. If you start to change things, you might as well buy a new bike.
Is modifying a Bullet 350X for better performance a way of ruining its classic charm?

It depends on the mods. Get a better carb or ignition system and you can improve the ride without changing the looks. Go too far and you lose what makes a Bullet special.

Moderate mods are fine I think. While the stock Bullet feels a little underpowered, some tweaks to improve performance can actually make the bike more fun to ride. Just don't go crazy with exhausts or gaudy accessories, though.

It’s a personal choice, but I like to keep my Bullet stock. Riding it the way it was designed is special. On top of that, you dodge the potential reliability problems that can come with aftermarket parts.
Does the Bullet 350X’s lower fuel efficiency than other 350cc bikes justify it’s riding experience?
07 January 2025 11:40
The Bullet experience is totally worth it with the lower fuel efficiency. There’s no price you can put on that classic thump and the feeling you get riding a legend. Transportation is not just that, it’s an emotion.
Does the Bullet 350X’s lower fuel efficiency than other 350cc bikes justify it’s riding experience?
07 January 2025 11:40
No way is it justified. Today’s economy is one where every rupee counts. If you can get a more efficient bike that will perform better, why spend more on fuel? 'Experience' doesn't pay your bills.
Does the Bullet 350X’s lower fuel efficiency than other 350cc bikes justify it’s riding experience?
07 January 2025 11:40
It's a trade-off. You will spend more on fuel, but you’re getting a unique riding experience that no other 350cc bike can give. But if you love motorcycling, it's worth it.
Does the Bullet 350X’s lower fuel efficiency than other 350cc bikes justify it’s riding experience?
07 January 2025 11:40
If you ride sensibly it’s not that bad in terms of efficiency. It’s not as good as some others, yes, but not by much. But I feel the joy of riding a Bullet compensates for the additional cost of fuel.
Does the Bullet 350X’s lower fuel efficiency than other 350cc bikes justify it’s riding experience?
07 January 2025 11:40
But I think it really depends on how you use it. The lower efficiency can be painful for daily commuting. The extra fuel cost is definitely justified, but for weekend rides and touring.
How reliable is the Bullet 350X compared to the older Bullets and current rivals?
07 January 2025 11:40
Old Bullets are way more reliable than the 350X. It’s amazing what Royal Enfield has done. I’ve had mine for two years, with zero issues, just typical maintenance.
How reliable is the Bullet 350X compared to the older Bullets and current rivals?

Still not Japanese bike level, but better. But you won’t be as insulated from niggles and you’ll need servicing more often than a Honda or Yamaha. That RE character comes at a price.
How reliable is the Bullet 350X compared to the older Bullets and current rivals?
07 January 2025 11:40
Reliability is hit or miss. There are some who experience trouble free and some who experience continuous issues. Well, it really depends on how good you are at maintaining it and maybe a little bit of luck.
How reliable is the Bullet 350X compared to the older Bullets and current rivals?
07 January 2025 11:40
It's probably reliable enough for most users. Yes, it’s not bullet proof like some other brands, but if you’re cool with a little more attention and care, it’s not a problem. It makes up for with the riding experience.
How reliable is the Bullet 350X compared to the older Bullets and current rivals?
07 January 2025 11:40
The reliability is still a concern, honestly. It's better, but you're still more likely to have problems with a Bullet than with newer designs. For some, though, that's all part of the ownership experience.
Is the Bullet 350 ES a decent first bike for new riders?
07 January 2025 11:28
If you’re patient and willing to learn, it can be a great first bike. The Bullet is designed to teach you how to ride, not just twist the throttle and go.
Is the Bullet 350 ES a decent first bike for new riders?
07 January 2025 11:28
I wouldn't recommend it for most beginners, however. But it's heavy, can be temperamental and has no modern safety features. For new riders, there are much better options out there.
Is the Bullet 350 ES a decent first bike for new riders?
07 January 2025 11:28
It depends on the rider. If you’re mechanically inclined and you like the classic bike experience, by all means, go for it. It's not easy and it's not hassle free.
